Is it good to be a jerk to your wife sometimes?

Sometimes I am a jerk to my wife. For example, I know she hates my smoking and drinking but I do it anyway. She finds the weed and has a FIT, she calls me "stupid a$$hole", yells and screams. I don't say anything, I just let her vent because I believe she is wrong.

After she calms down and I explain my side calmly it's all good. An hour or 2 after the fight, she is cool again. I think she likes the drama and the emotion.

That's why I keep doing it.

Oh yeah, if you occasionally push the limit and move the line closer in her direction the line eventually stays in her direction. It should be subtle though, too much and many of them will leave.

That said, smoking and drinking is a stupid thing to fight about.

I have decided I am going to quit smoking that stuff now. I saw a shrink and she agreed I have ADD. Got a script for Adderall, I feel great. Like a new man, don't feel I need the weed anymore. My anxiety is gone, I should have taken this stuff a long time ago. I also got Wellbutrin to take with it.

What you're describing as being a jerk is just standing your ground. To answer your question, yes, you should always stand your ground.

No decent female wants a doormat for a husband. However, I will say that you shouldn't be smoking dope or drinking often, my friend. It's not what a winner does.

Join your local gym, or if you have quite a bit of extra testosterone, a Karate or Jiu-Jitsu studio. If you do both, you'll be a monster.

This will accomplish three things: 1) You'll be in amazing shape. 2) You'll gain the easy confidence of a trained fighter. 3) You'll be away from home and that will make her both unhappy that you're gone, but really happy when you're home. She'll likely complain about it and get her drama fix, too.

The weed is a pretty recent thing, 6 months. Been married 3 times that.
