Whats up DJ's.

I've decided to pursue a job as a fire fighter. Right now I'm taking a course in Fire Science at my local community college and plan on volunteering to help me build up a good resume. I already have Military experience so that will help.

Anyways Fire Fighting wasn't my first choice but I will have to make due. I desparately wanted to be a baseball player but a reoccuring knee injury prevented me from taking my game to the next level. This is something I've struggled with for many years. I felt deep feelings that I had failed and would never be happy. When I was in highschool I had colleges knocking down the door to recruit me and then after my injury they all disappeared.

So I've decided to pursue this venture. I don't know that much about it but I've always considered it. After trying my hand at other jobs that were unfulfiling I then decided that fire fighting would at the very least be something that would be respectable. Moreso then sales, my previous job.

Plus it will give me time to pursue other ventures. You get a fair ammount of time off and the pay isn't that bad. I plan on using that time to start other small businesses and stack some dough.

My dad was a firefighter, and it seemed like the guys really had a friendly, fraternal bond. It's like being in High School, but without the *****y teachers.

When my dad retired, all these guys loved him to death. He was a fun, popular guy, and all the firement lectured me on how it was the best job they ever had.

I think it's great in that it gives you time to pursue business ventures as well (which my dad did. At one time, he owned four businesses at once).

But once you hit that upper-middle-class glass cieling, I'd imagine it's hard to break out short of the stock market or something.
