A Few theories i can think of
1) Due to feminism and the gradual outward sexual promiscuity over the last 15 years, women are now more liberated to be more open sexually. Because of the guilt of extreme promiscuity and the berate of family and values of the society they feel guilty and the need to punish them selves. An avenue of punishing them selves is for someone to punish them aka a jerk or an immoral man involved in crimes/drinking and drugs.
If you see a women in a situation similar to the above, stay clear and don't get involved. You'll end up in a life of drama and eventually traumatizing yourself.
2) Women are naturally the helper and caregivers to the children in a family unit. When a women first has sexual relations with a man, they become bonded to each other and her natural instincts is to care for a family. Yet when this happens multiple times without any children or husband to help or care for, she fills the void by finding jerks and men with problems to help and nurse back to being good as if they were her children.
Many of these problems did not exist a century ago because men were the bread winners, women stayed home to help the family and Christian values were more widespread in the public forum.
Most of the problems in all societies can be easily be solved by following what the word of God says in the bible. Loving one another and obeying God's commandments regarding marriage and adultery.
