I've been "caught" on ss a couple of times. I never really hid it to begin with and the girls who found out did so as I left my browser open to ss. I haven't posted anything to be ashamed of, and they found most advice on this site realistic.

I live with my GF and we share a computer. I have not been to SS once on that comp. Everything I view/type on SS is either at work or my parents' house.

That being said, sometimes I just can't help but drop SS jargon in front of my girl. She has no clue what I'm talking about, and sometimes I get really frustrated when she gives me a confused look.

Example:
GF: "OMG, I loooooove that new Britney Spears song!"
BH: "You're really trapped in the matrix."
GF: -Confused look-
BH: "Do you have any clue what the matrix is?"
GF: "I saw the movie but I had no clue what it was about."
BH -Shakes head in disbelief-

I also call her out all the time when she tries to sh*t test me. One of my favorite lines is:

"You have this sense of entitlement just because you have a vagina!"

Its funny when she never has a response to that statement because she knows its true.

Robert Greene has a law in his book "The 48 laws of power" titled "Think as you like but behave like others."

It doesn't directly correlate to DJism but he has a really profound passage about how closely other people hold onto their ideals and how futile it is to try to change them.

I would post it but I'm at work right now. Maybe I'll post it when get home...

That's a great quote.

There are just some things that others will never understand. Sometimes it's tough living in a world that is moving in its own direction, at its own pace. makes you feel "alone" in a way.

I have never told my gf, or any girl, about SS. I have tried to turn a few friends on to the community, with varying success. Most just arent willing to accept the revelations of the community, because it goes against everything they have been told. Social conditioning has deep roots.

I even told my father about it not too long ago, but I dont think he ever checked it out. Sometimes we talk about women and marriage, and he likes some of my perspectives, but Im not sure he could fully unplug. He might be too old to become a jedi.

The matrix metaphor gets used alot here, but it really is the perfect parallel. No one who is inside the matrix is ever aware that they are until they are shown a way out. Once that awareness occurs they will never forget what they 'see', even if they choose to plug back in.

There's a thought to ponder.

How old is too old to "wake up"?

Mrs. K absolutely knows I come here and there are a few other forums I belong to which I make no qualms or apologies for. She knows my intent is personal empowerment and development of the self.

She has no issues and has read quite a few of my posts. She doesn't necessarily agree on some of my comments but nonetheless knows that I do not require her permission, absolution or benediction.

This is why our relationship works so well. We RESPECT each others BOUNDARIES.

I'm mentoring 3 brothers currently who I am advising read through the forums but they are not yet allowed to register or become active members until they can make valid, mature decisions and opinions. I do not want my padawans lumped in with the Skiptomylousers of this particular forum.

Although I never mention this place I take great joy in playfully arguing some our basic tenants with some women.

One of my favorite topics is the SoulMate myth. It seems to be that loose thread, that if pulled, the entire fabric of their world comes apart.

A surprisingly large number of 20-something women SAY they don’t believe in it, but when you start to unravel how they think the cheap plywood under that fine Walnut veneer begins to show through.

As far as how old is too old to unplug I don’t think its age but a certain flexibility in thought, a nimble and independent mind.

I question everything as sometimes herd mentality takes hold, EVEN HERE.

Pick Up Artist. Guys like Mystery, Ross Jeffries, etc. Their game is entirely situational and typically masks a root problem. Great techniques, but they are just that--techniques. They can produce rapid, convincing success, but the essence of PUA-ism is projecting an illusion of someone you are not. That is why most of them ultimately crumble on their afc foundations.

Recognize the difference between manipulating and becoming.

Anytime I get into a **logical** discussion with a woman about anything like this, I get such a kick out of seeing the expression on their face when they come to the realization that there might actually be some merit to what I am saying.
