Bizzare, My LTR is about 5'3" but has the appearance of being taller than a recent STR at about 5'11", both have good posture, but LTR is more womanly shaped ?

Somewhere I read that women say they like tall strong men because they like to feel protected, if you make these women feel safe you become tall and strong !

Im 5 10 , one time at a wedding , I met this chick..she kept talking to me..I got her # and she gave me hers...

I asked a female friend to feel her out and see what she thinks of me..she asked my friend "Isnt he kinda short?"

this chick was like 5 7"

Well, that is just my opinion. I think height and looks matter the most in places like bars and clubs...but not too many others. Like i said New-DJ, i worked for a financial company. There were plenty of guys i knew your height or shorter who had g/f, engaged or married. And no, these girls were not pigs, alot of them were cute looking.

Exactly...women like tall men because of protection. However, if you are only 5'7", but can make a 5'4" girl feel protected..you are ok. In my opinion height is overrated, being tall is an advantage in atteracting ladies..but not as big as people make it out to be. We can thank the goddamn media for that one.

Hey I'm = SHORT: 5'7.5" more or less exactly.

Really I don't think it makes any difference - I guess there must be girls who don't go for short, but I've never noticed (maybe I don't go to the right bars ?)

As VBG says "it is difficult to kiss when we are standing up" it can be a bit odd with *very* tall women.

I'm 20, 6'4'', and the girls run away from me like I'm the Creature From The Black Lagoon (working on changing that, of course). Height is definitely not the be all and end all of attracting women.

And do you have any idea how hard it is to find good shoes that fit me, or clothes that are sized like a garbage bag (clothes manufacturers seem to assume if you're tall you're also a fat f***). Do you have any idea how many jackasses come up to m and say "so, how's the air up there?" Or how many times in my life I've been asked if I play basketball?

I'm 5'6, and according to the height thingy 80% of men are taller than me in the US. In Australia the average height is only 175cm (5'9-6').

When I stand next to Asians (being Asian), my height is average. But when its next to a white person, they're usually taller than me.

Also, it says that 72% of women are shorter than 5'6.


Has anyone noticed how Jerry Springer couples always have a girl taller than a guy?

Wow the numbers are that low for tall people! I must live in the land of the giants then lol. I'm 6'3" and I know that's tall, but there are several kids as tall or taller then me! Yea, i have read from numerous stats that only 5% of the male population is 6'2" or taller. Sometimes i believe that stat and sometimes i do not. Basically to be a pro athlete these days, you are considered short if you are under 6'1".

Being short guarantees repulsion no more than height guarantees attraction. But all other things equal women will tend toward the taller man. Women want the alpha males and there is definitely a physical component to that.

Coming out of a very LTR you may be a little surprised about the petite women. I've had little luck with them, most of the women I've dated are between 5'4" and 5'7". I'm 5'7". I think a lot of shorter girls are self conscious about their height which leads them to taller men. Maybe it's some subconscious desire to have taller children.

On the whole you will have to be sharper than your taller friends when it comes to meeting women as they may not have a strong initial attraction to shorter men. It's definitely doable, I'm just saying it's harder in general for shorter men.

I'm 5'11'', I prefer women between 5'6'' and 6 feet. I'm always told I'm tall, but I went to The Hard Rock casino in Vegas once and I was the shortest guy there. I had never experienced anything like it. I felt like no one could see me becuase I was so small. I don't know how shorter men do it.

One thing I learned from studying Speed Seduction (which I have found I don't need) is mean values and end values. Mean values are what women SAY, and end values are what the mean values REALLY mean. The fact women like tall men means NOTHING. What really is going on is that tall men make women feel PROTECTED -- you know, when wrapped around those BIG ARMS which typically accompanies tall men. So when a woman tells you she likes tall men, emphasize making her feel protected.

I’m a short guy at 5’7”, and I do feel insecure about it. I saw an article recently on evolutionary psychology and it said that women like taller men because to a “cave women” a taller mate would indicate that he was a good hunter because he had enough food to reach that height, that he was stronger as taller men tend to be stronger, and so the taller man could protect her and get food for her and their children. Personally I’m working on building a good bit of muscle tone and trying to stop my slouching which is a lack of confidence thing again, maximise my height and look more physically fit than most guys therefore maximising my physical attractiveness. I can’t help being short, in the same way I can’t help being average looking without extensive surgery, try and maximise what you have that can’t be changed and improve on what can be changed, that’s my motto.

Also just to note, that a women I talked to recently, who was about 6’0”, when I said I thought I was short and she said I wasn’t and she said it very sincerely, so I guess I may be paranoid about how women judge height. But she also said that she does find taller men more attractive on first glance, but that would be the same as a good looking guy over an average looking guy, a Don Juan needs to be able to by pass such instinctive barriers, right.
