Do you think these are good aproaches?

Well as soon as I can I think im going to try approaching chicks and talking to them. Like when I see a girl 18 or older in the store by herself I will say excuse me but is it alright if I ask you a question? if she says yes I will say well tommorow is my sisters birthday and I was wondering where you got your purse from? and she will answer my question and then ill walk away. I will do this to atleast 10 girls this week. But I was wondering does this sound alright or what?

In the store? Is that where you work. I hit on every hot girl who walking in my shop. I have been asking about good places to go out because im new to the area. (Which atm i am) Has quite a high success rate because you can meet them there and set the date on the first contact.
