DJ Boot Camp - Week 5

(Setting Up Initial Date / What To Do On First Date)

This is the response thread for the fifth week of the Don Juan Boot Camp. The only content that should exist here would ideally be from those who have read the relevant chapter in the DJ eBook and have done the exercises.

I haven't had too much luck settting up the first date.

1. I called one girl and asked her to check out a show with me. She had to work the night of the show and said she'd try to meet me there. I didn't hear from her that night. She sent me a text a couple days later saying she had to work late. I wrote her back saying she missed a good show, and told her we should get together in the upcoming week. I never heard back.

2. I called another girl and blocked my number. She picked up and was confused because she didn't know who was calling. She said she was busy and that I should call tomorrow. I ended up getting busy and never called. It's been about a week. Don't know if it's too late to make the call.

3. I did end up going out with one girl last week. We went to this bar/lounge to see a band play. I thought everything went well. I even kiss closed at the end of the nite. I called her a few days later but she didn't answer. I left a message and never heard back.

I was supposed to have a date today but I didn't phone her in the morning as I had to work. I phoned her in the afternoon around 3 to make plans for the night but she said she already had plans. I was pretty happy because I got to watch MNF.

So now we're supposed to go out later this week but I'm very non chalant about it.

Once you watch enough porn, nothing really excites you anymore - even if you have limited experience.

I think I make it a point not to go out when MNF is on. I do have to disagree with you on the porn thing though. I'm still exited.

4. This one I called last week. Because I had a strange experience blocking my number I decided not to do it this time. Since I knew my number was going to show up I figured I should probably leave a message, which I did. I haven't heard back from her. I'm really not really expecting to either.

I decided to call the girl back who was busy (#2 above). I didn't block the number because she was thrown off a bit, and it was the second time calling. I asked her out for later in the week, and she said she was going out of town for work. She said she'd call when she gets back. I just have to wait and see. I'm not going to call her again though.

5. Called another girl tonite. I blocked the number. She didn't pick up. I'll try again in a few days.

Blocking your number

I don't know how I feel about blocking my number when I call. Usually if someone's calling me at night and the numbers blocked, I assume it's a telemarketer or something and I won't pick up.
I think it might reduce your chances of getting her on the phone the first time.

I got a number a few weeks ago. It was a great close. I called her a few days later to set something up during the week. She works at a hotel and had to work the night shift that night. I work during the day. She said we should try to meet up on the weekend. I waited a few days called her, and never heard back.

I've decided that I need to work on my phone game.
