Working out to failure or not?

@Smack: So have you never (or hardly ever) worked out to failure, but been able to make significant gains? (just curious)

Working out to failure or not?

INteresting read mr ruckus, thanks. But, the main thing I'm wondering: When those guys all say how dangerous the bb bench press is and assume that incline bench press/db bench presses are much safer (because most pec injuries happen during the bb bench press according to doctors)....maybe the...

What country has the hottest asian women?

Haha...but..you know what I find strange? I know a vietnamese girl here in Germany and two vietnamese guys (thus two different families), and all of them happen to look pretty exotic to me, or well they all have very tan skin (guess thats not the norm, though). I assume Vietnam isnt really...

What country has the hottest asian women?

What's Vietnam like as a country, though? Are there any modern cities such as in Japan and Korea, etc.? I've been a sucker for exotic girls, I guess (but mostly the latina kind), but I'm think I'm starting to fall for this kind of woman: - Nicole Scherzinger - Tia Carrere (if anyone...

Working out to failure or not?

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it...but I dont see what this has to do with my question/the quote you used, where I asked how lifting to failure was worse for one's joints. I also believe, if youre really concerned about d oing it in a healthy way then you can lift (almost) to failure with...

Working out to failure or not?

Out of curiosity, did he really say exactly this (the last part)? To be honest, I can see how lifting to failure might give you problems with your muscles such as a pec rupture, if you got really bad luck, but I'm wondering how it would affect the bones/joints in a more negative way than not...

Working out to failure or not?

I must say I agree with you. The injury rates I saw from weight lifting were way lower compared to other sports. The main question (to me) is just at what level they are when it comes to serious injuries..the type of injuries that really mess you up. Can't really speak for serious power...

Working out to failure or not?

What did the orthopedic surgeon say? Did he simply say "weight lifting is bad for your health" like in general or did he say something more specific about it/what kinds of exercises increase injury? Actually, Im going to take a step back from lifting, because Ive been concerned about my health...

Working out to failure or not?

Interesting. What do you mean by cookie cutter programs (sorry English isnt my first language, and I havent heard this expression before). Do you stop one short of failure or know anyone who has been doing this and gotten pretty much the same results?

    I am so Confused.

Here's my advice to you: Start dating other girls. Find another cute hottie and start d ating her. Two things can happen: 1) the girl y ou have a crush on right now will get jealous and go for you or 2) she won't care about it, but you'll have another girl that you might develop...

How does the mature man work out?

This was exactly my point. That staying lean (unless you're skinny) probably goes a long way, when everyone else has a beer belly..and I can't see many men over 40 who don't. Matter of fact, half the people my age (25) already have one (which they didn't 5 years ago). Sort of like marketing...

Working out to failure or not?

I said he wasnt "hulk" and that his "natural bodytype" (aka ectomorph vs. mesomorph vs. endomorph) wasn't the "strong" type. Actually I don't get along very well with him (so this isnt a "my dad is the best" elemtnary type of thread), but if at 56 I still have a sixpack and look significantly...

Working out to failure or not?

Okay, so I've been working out for 9 years and always to failure (though for the past 4 years Ive only been doing maintaining..and getting my legs+back to catch up, because I was silly and didnt work them out in the beginning). Now, here's something that makes me wonder: My dad who is 56...

What country has the hottest asian women?

Hey bobbinika, when you say pretty much all the girls can speak English, because it's built around a base (I assume an air base?), is that something you've actually experienced (as in spoken with multiple girls and realized all of them could speak some English) or is it more of a guess...

    Quitting Smoking

I was a smoker from 11 to 17, and quit (25 now). So, I guess it can be done, and I'd never go back. It's similar to "ONEitis" (or any other addiction). You can't let it go, and actually making that break is very hard to. But once you've done it and look back at it you wonder "why the **** did I...

    Headed to Brazil: Any advice?

So, you guys are really making me want to go to Brazil (especially your last post cosmopolit). However..how much of a problem is crime there? I know a brazilian girl who's about to move to Europe, because she thinks Brazil is too dangerous (but then again she lives in Sao Paolo). Are there...

    Learning New Languages

Yea, it's hard, but not hard as in "only a genius can do it", because anyone of average intelligence can learn a new language (though a genius might learn it more quickly)..However, if you learn the basic grammar and vocabulary and then spend a year or so in the country and are totally immerse...

    Learning New Languages

I taught myself English and French mostly on my own (I can speak English pretty much as well as German and feel almost as comfortable at it, whereas my French, I'd say is close to fluency (I can say everything I want without hesitation, but sometimes have to 'describe' something as I don't know...

    Cross-cultural DJ-ing

Hey Sir Shinra, this stuff is actually one of the main questions I've been wondering. I've been interested in foreign languages since I was 16 (can speak fluent English & French)..and am interested in travelling (though I havent travelled that much, yet)...and...Ive seen black (fat) guys here...
