You're thinking about it like a guy. Women do show interest, but not in the same ways guys do. It's the man's job to pick up on those IOIs and follow through. Nobody said life was fair. It is what it is.

The best response I ever heard was from an Australian guy to an American girl: "Acutally, in Australia, the women buy the men drinks." I don't know if she bought him a drink, but they were together a lot after that.
