It was just some (older) dude (probably in his late 40's or 50's) that I happened to strike up a conversation with. We just talked about biking and the price of beer, then he asked that question. I don't know what gave him a clue? I confess he was kind of right, but I don't see how he could tell within a few minutes of an unimportant conversation. Just experience?!
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Don't be so analytical. I have the same problem. Just stop thinking about every little thing. I mean, look at your threads:

- I turned on the music--she asked: Do you sit here and listen to music all day?
- Went to a bar; talked to a guy; he asked: are you lonely?

Don't worry what other people say or ask. Just do what you want.
 

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

If you ask people whether they have some sort of a scratch or a mark on their left knee, most of them will answer yes and think that you are a psychic.

he didn't ask for my number, though I suspected that he might be gay? He (later) said he has a wife but his wife allows him to have "the lay of the land" (he's travelling). Well, he left early, thank goodness.
