My grandmother has been very ill the last couple of days. Seeing her laying in bed, unable to get up, made me remember the words i heard years ago from an old man: "the things i regret most in life are the ones i didn't do." I knew what he meant, but not until now have i really felt it.
Each year whizzes by faster than the previous one. In what will one day seem like the blink of an eye, or lives will be over. We'll be the ones slowly dying in bed, our hearts filled with regret about the things we should have done, but didn't.
Has reading this inspired you to see things differently, to make changes in life? If so, don't wait until tomorrow! It never comes. Do something, and do it now. Doesn't matter what it is as long as it gets you one step closer to living life the way you want to.
Do you spend too much time in front of the TV? If so, pick up a hammer and shatter the screen into a thousand pieces. Have you spent too much time worrying over some flaky chick? Pick up the phone and tell her to go fvck herself.
I know this seems like overreacting, but you can't calmly talk yourself into making monumental changes to your life. You have to shock yourself into making them by taking immediate, drastic action from which there will be no turning back.
Identify things in your life that take up too much time, but don't really benefit you in any way, and phase them out. Concentrate on what matters. Remember, one day, you'll be laying in a hospital bed, surrounded by your teary-eyed relatives. At that moment, wouldn't it be great if you could reflect on a life that was filled with joy and excitement?
