Is a smartphone stronger than a handful of barbarians?
Back in 476 A.D. the world got taken by surprise when they noticed that a handful of barbarians took down the mightiest nation history has ever seen. And history has a tendency of repeating itself in an infinite cycle with different variables, but in today's world, a handful of barbarians would not be needed to strike down the mightiest nation, a smartphone would do the job just fine. Why?

It has been proven scientifically that each new generation tends to have a lower IQ than the previous one, the reason? Too much screen time. As neurocientist Michel Desmurget once said: "The main pillars of our intelligence is affected when too much screen time is presented to us: language, focus, memory, culture, all affected by a small device we call smartphone". The keyword here is "culture", when this aspect of a society is degraded to a point of no return, a nation can lose it's unity, bringing chaos to their citizens, and leaving the integrity of the whole country at stake.

Parents that do not know how to dosage their own internet time, will not be able to dosage their child's screen time, leading to a undisciplined consume of content, which most of the time is inappropriate for a grown human, let alone for a small kid, inducing in them psychological problems and an never ending loop of dopamine, which leads to procastination and so on.

In conclusion, if nothing is done by responsible adults in regards to the future of their children, what would the future of a nation look like if their foundation are kids? Parents need to control the digital enviroment their kids are in, they need to determine how much of internet usage is good for them, they need to specify which kind of content they can see, and which kind they cannot. Everyone should know the disadvantages of prolonged consumption of infertile content because only if they recognize that as being unhealthy, they'll be able to see it all.

Love this post.

Nobody has family dinners at the table anymore. And when they do, the kids are glued to those phones.

Big reason for the breakdown of society, as a whole. It starts inside the home.
When I was a kid I had "family dinners" my mothers and my "new dad" aka the man she got after divorcing my dad were arguing non-stop and I was forced to sit there till the "entire family" was done cause thats what noble families do unlike uncivilized people that leave the table.

I'm pretty sure that strongly contributed to my lack of mental health as an adult and my strong discomfort to sit at the dinner table rather than eating in front of the computer.

Awfully it's not that simple, sometime the bad alternative is the lesser bad.

We should ask ourselves if kids are glued to a screen cause they cant control themselves or cause they are trying to avoid whats in front of them.

Families were crumbling before the first iPhone hit the market in 2007.

True story. Smartphones only made them worse.
The family has been crumbling for a long time. The people who have started to become parents since 2007 are late Gen X'ers (1975-1981) and now Millennials.

Let's not forget that Generation X (1965-1981) were the original latchkey children when no fault divorced first opened up in the 1970s. Late Gen X (1975-1981 births) had a fair amount of parental divorces prior to age 18. Generation X is a smaller generation.

Millennials were the first large generational cohort to be the children of divorce. A lot of my early Millennial peers had divorces in their families in childhood. Being a child of divorce increases the possibility you'll divorce as an adult, though that's not the only factor. I'll agree that smartphones made an existing problem worse. As a whole, smartphones, social media, and dating websites/apps made the whole mating environment worse.

The mightiest nation partially sacked in 476 actually survived in the form of the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire, and flourished for 1000 years. They were able to avoid the life cycle described in Sir John Glubb's "Fates of Empires" by doing one particular thing.

I'd say what that one thing was but it's very, very un-PC. LOL.

True indeed.

Turn off the pc and smartphone and read more books.
I mean real books that you learn from and not the bs fiction crap.

The internet (including the devices) does make you dumber if you are not prepared for it and know how to use is a tool.

Turn off auto correct and use your own head. Using autocorrect etc makes you dumber as it will question your own knowledge about grammar and spelling it = makes you bad at wiring and spelling long term...

Remember and memorize the numbers that matters (trains your brain too), so you can use them even if you do not have your cell phone at hand etc.

There is are a reason why Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and many other tech moguls forbid their kids any devices or access to the internet until they are 18 years old.

They even send them to schools that do not use computers, internet and smartphones, iPad etc., but are purely analogue schools that doesn't expose their kids to the internet.

Now think about that...
If they are doing this then they clearly know something and you should do the same with your kids.

Smart phones
The internet
Social Media

The three Demons that have destroyed modern society. People have no sense of community anymore. Most people never ever talk to their neighbours let alone their own family members.

How come the politicians, the leaders who are elected to make us a strong powerful country, aren’t held responsible? They can cut the junk food, porn, gambling, smart phones, and internet usage if they want.

Or maybe they know most men are inherently weak so they exploit their deepest insecurities to make money and stay in power and f*ck hot women.

From the moment a man is born, society brainwashes him to make him feel worthless, gives him all the tools to destroy himself, crushes him when he feels vulnerable, then laughs at him when he can’t handle it.

Rock on!

A weaker population is easier to control but it will mean a weaker nation that can easly be conquered. Like rome when they fought against the Chad Germanic Men

Loyalties also became more and more personal from the time of the republic to the fall in the west in 476. This made governing the republic/empire increasingly more difficult.

SmartPhones don't cancel people... people cancel people.

1. Irresponsibility
2. Disrespect
3. Laziness

These three things are killing my society and yours.

The politicians are too busy working to divide us in other ways, as is the "news" media.

The problem is that a society succeeds when men plant trees despite knowing they will never see them grow while their nephews will have a place to sit under.

Nowadays the productive men under 35 are going minimal investment, going mgtow or moving abroad.

Exactly, men used to get good jobs and work their way up to get a good woman to marry and have kids with.

Take that away and what incentives Do men even have anymore?

No incentive at all, only more taxes and more laws that limit their rights and freedom.

Productive men have no reason to support current western society on the contrary they have plenty of reasons to enjoy the decline.

If we had to compare our society to a family it would be like the father working hard to provide, his wife spending the money and driving the car while his kid plays videogame with no headphones till 5am and his teenage daughter is the one setting the rules.

Basically that's the reason why loyalties become more personal; just like I mentioned before. Everybody used to revere the Constitution of the United States, but more and more people don't care about those principles and want their political leader to be a dictator. This is what happened when the Roman Republic became the Roman Empire.
