So apparently the facebook community is going crazy because the site is scheduled to shut down tonight at midnight (March 15th). I'm not really a fan of social networking but it should be interesting if the site actually stays down. Nothing will ever beat good ol face to face and hopefully no more "Facebook/Relationship trouble post"
For half the day, there should be a "We're Closed" sign on the front page and nobody can login.
Warning!
Do not subscribe to The SoSuave Newsletter unless you are already a chick magnet!
The information in each issue of The SoSuave Newsletter is too powerful for most guys to handle. If you are an ordinary guy, it is not for you. It is meant for the elite few. Not the unwashed masses.
If you know you can handle it...
If you already have girls calling you at all hours of the day and night, showing up at your door, throwing themselves at you everywhere you go...
Then sign up below.
But if you're just an average Joe, an ordinary guy, no one special – then skip this. It is not for you.
How crazy would it be if facebook shut down and people had to actually interact face to face!! OMFG!!! can you even begin to fathom such a scenario?!?!!
I'll get a date with a HB10 before Facebook gets taken down. They provide a service tailor made for scalability, they expect heavy traffic. On top of that, their servers are not on a single place, I assure you. See what happened when those ignorant punks at anonymous tried to take Amazon down, the same will happen with Facebook (zero impact).
Facebook is one of the biggest advertisers in the online world next to google. Facebook won't "shutdown" until people refuse to buy products via facebook. I've been studying how to market and sell products on facebook and trust me, its big business.
It won't "shut down" but its not gonna stay at the top forever. Myspace was enormous too and is pretty much a joke now. As long as Facebook keeps switching things up to allow more advertisements, infringements on user info and privacy, and your Aunt Judy keeps commenting on your wall posts, its getting closer and closer to an alternative picking up steam.
Youtube is another giant I see going away soon. Nobody wants to wait around for a 15 second advertisement before they see a video.
I predict an incredible fall for Youtube over the next year, and I wouldn't give Facebook another 3 years.
Google, Youtube, and Facebook aren't going anywhere anytime soon. They are partially taxpayer funded so revenue streams aren't as important to those corporations.
It may be a "joke" when you consider who uses what for social networking, but the MySpace company is still doing damn well for itself. Sure, they have dipped, but they are by no means in trouble of closing down.
Facebook is for 45 year old Anglo women with one egg left and the young confused boys who love them. Seriously. Nobody is using that site anymore. Anyone who is anyone has moved on. Hell, even tumblr is so last year. I suspect the same people who use facebook now were the ones who were using myspace two years ago! LOSERS!

Haha, I laughed at this because it is so out of touch with reality.
I recently bit the bullet and joined facebook, and quite literally everyone I know is on there (by which I mean 95% of people under the age of 50), with a few notable exceptions.
I still don't get the rave about facebook. Sure it's a great medium to stay in touch with people you otherwise could not be fcked putting the effort in with, but really, all those hours stalking people and playing those ****ty little web games? hit the fcking gym.
I actually use FB for people I don't want to spend too much time on but need to keep a civil relationship with. Just a little status update, a like on their comment (which I use a script for), and that keeps my superficial relationships in good standing. No more having to talk on the phone or in person and acting like I'm interested. FB actually frees up my offline time for people I actually want to hear from and be around.
