I got my levels checked 2 years ago and am getting my test checked again shortly.

when I got them checked 2 years ago I was obese - they were 16.1

it says that’s normal range but it felt low at the time. They give a very broad range and only classify it as low when it’s so low it’s like causing you to stop growing a beard and getting boobs.

Anyone know the full picture on how T works, and whether this reading is normal or low in the range?

at the time I felt tired, weak and low libido (I was obese - guess that was a factor)

I feel a lot better now having lost weight but it would be interesting to see others views, how to ramp it up to feel a bit younger and keep healthy.

Anyone monitor theirs or know much about it?

I'd like to know too. I'm 33 now and I'm curious about it, but I'm not going to be able to get the T test done until August/September timeframe. I might skip the vitamin D testing and just opt for that one.

There can be other causes for your symptoms, both psychological and physiological. Just like there's a lot of reasons for a cough that has nothing to do with covid. Don't be stuck on your T levels if it turns up fine, start looking into other possible causes.

yeah I think it’s stress. I actually had no issues with sexual function when I had a few days off work or a holiday. The main issue was, I went from being obsessed with sex every third minute to never thinking about it and having to actually kind of encourage myself to get interested in it .

as I lost weight that improved a bit. I guess being obese makes it’s own stress.

I looked at the sources and actually my levels aren’t bad for my age. There are 21 year olds on Reddit reporting similar levels. When I was 21 I knew I was off the charts - even compared to friends I was abnormally horny.

def agree, much more to it than the hormone. Psychology is massive

Time to get rowdy and cycle 250mg a week of Test E, for 12 weeks as a cycle.

do a weeks worth of NOFAP/No Porn after your first injection. to reset things a little

be prepared to hold everyone accountable, lift up a house, and you'll orgasm like Highlander the movie when he kills an immortal.

Oh god its good

I have too high body fat to run cycles at 25% it would mess me up.

plus I have never run cycles and am worried what happens when I come off it.

I want to have another child soon so don’t want to mess with the sperm count.

maybe when I’m 12% BF and had my final child.

am I right that you’re in AA but abusing steroids? Surely they will f you up potentially worse than alcohol!!!

nope dont get any kind of psychological/addiction effects from test.

i bought a book on steroids and spoke to several PT and all of them including the book advised to not take steroids until I had reached genetic potential. The PT (who was clearly using them based on the acne at age 32 and no hair to speak of) particularly warned me off and said “they’ll Fyou up”

Nothing to do with Google and as for an answer for everything, that is merely because I questioned the religious aspect of AA as I’m an atheist/agnostic and I can’t commit to anything which rests on spirituality.

I am more than willing to be convinced otherwise re steroids, I am seeking to understand .

the medical profession also don’t recommend steroid use. If you can recommend some sources which back up your point of view I would listen - I would actually like the benefits of them.

I just always saw the downsides as too great - such as sustained ED and depression post cycle, rage (I have an anger issue anyway) and gynicomestia given my already high body fat.
Also being fat I thought the idea would be to use Winnie and clen, and apparently Winnie will completely kill your d1ck.

as you can see, I have researched this at length and am far from a Google reader

I have had joint issues so thought also of a deca cycle. I’ve gone through this in depth but I wouldn’t try before my BF was a lot lower. At my level it would be asking for trouble given I am already estrogenic due to fat level

Disclaimer: I'm not a professional in this field, and the following is based on my own interest/research in the subject.

First, often the "normal" range doctors give for T levels starts too low. It may accurately describe the entire male population, I don't know, but then again, the average male today is not healthy and probably has too low T levels. If your levels are below the middle of the "normal" range, you may want to do more research on the subject.

The test result you mentioned in the first post, I assume it is the free testosterone level, not total? You have to be careful with the difference and also with the measurement units. Best to compare to the range they gave with the results.

Second, T levels are not everything. It is about the balance of hormones in your body. For example, men often think estrogen is bad/anti-male, but according to some steroid abuser stories, crashing estrogen levels can be a big problem.

Third, if you are at 25% body fat, you are unlikely to feel well. Get to at least below 20%, preferably near 15%, and then get the T levels checked again. Also, drop all extra sugar from your diet. Don't cut too much of the fats you eat, your body needs fat from food for hormonal function.

Fourth, spend time outside in the sun and with people. I have a theory (my own speculation) that solitude, such as during lockdowns, has a big impact on hormones and well-being through mechanisms maybe not yet fully understood.

Finally, only after doing everything possible naturally should you consider HRT. Even in this case, I think it is not wise to abuse/experiment with steroids on your own. Just go to a doctor and state that you want your levels to be optimal.

To sum up, if you lose excess bodyfat, lift weights multiple times a week, and drop sugar from diet, there is a high chance your T levels and your overall mood will go up considerably without any drugs.

OP, what is your t-levels in ng/dl reading?

As you stated, anything from 300-850 ng/dl is considered within range of "normal", which is a very broad spectrum. For all guys going to do a T-test, ALWAYS ask your doctor to give you the actual number reading. Otherwise, they may just tell you that your t-levels are normal and within range.

I've had two tests done too. One was 4 months ago and the other was 2-3 years ago.

I'm at the very low end like 320-350 ng/dl. But I'm kind of an anomoly as my libido is still good(not as good as 10 years ago) and I have a body of a late 20 year old. I look better physique wise then when I was younger, albeit with a fragile body prone to more injuries.

But there are a lot of days where I don't feel I have the same energy as before and I get exhausted quite often.

For the past 3 years especially, it's always been a struggle to get myself going and kick my azz in gear to workout. It's definitely harder than before but not impossible. It has partially due to mind over matter I strongly believe.

You have to have a strong mind first and foremost to overcome the deficiencies that come with old age. My $.02

Yea and daily pomegranate juice. Try it for a month - you ll start waking up with raging boners.

And it's a twofer. It stimulates blood flow which helps your heart and the little tadger. Heaps of science on it too - I didn't read it in woo woo weekly.

And look i know it's not as rambo is we like to be here but the best exercise is long-term sustainable exercise so walking with an audiobook is bloody good. Of course if you don't mind the gym weught bearing exercises even better. I personally despise the gym so I do kickboxing with hand weights to avoid lunch lady arms. There is always a way.

Make no fap/no porn a lifestyle and your T readings will be good. My first T reading after 1+ year of no fap/no porn was excellent.
