I'm curious when you "challenged him in the past" relative to when he published five books.

My guess is he spent more time debating 10+ years ago than more recently.

You're most likely correct here. When I started on this forum, he was more or less on his way out. I'm not sure what his discussion style was like before (although it wouldn't be to difficult to do some research on it).

I was able to find this thread: Mixed signals and what to do with it | SoSuave Discussion Forum. This is what I was referring to. First page. He made a statement, quoting something he wrote in his blog but didn't stick around to discuss it at all. Which is a shame.
