1. Hunger Games (2012)
2. Tenet (2020)
3. Dunkirk (2017)
4. Quiet Place (2018)
5. Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
6. Annihilation (2018)
7. Interstellar (2014)
8. Nope (2022)
9. Edge of Tommorow (2014)
10. Borne Identity (2002)

Honorary mentions:
1) Children of Men (2006)
2) V for Vendetta (2005)
3) Matrix and its sequels (1999)
4) Signs (2002)
5) Split (2016) and Glass (2019)
6) Mamma Mia & Its sequel (2008/2018)

They did not make the list, but might bump one of them off if I look at it further, or may be very close entries that I felt should be on it.

The first two in particular (Children of Men & V for Vendetta) have aged very well since I first watched them both in the cinema, in particular Children of Men. Every re-watch of Children of Men, seems eerily close to how America's divided politics have devolved to, even though they are using the UK as an fictional anchor point. V for Vendetta also uses the UK as the fictional anchor point of a future dictatorship. They are one of the most oldest and more frequently re-watched movies on the list.

1. Hunger Games (2012)
Hunger Games, that's interesting, didn't expect to see that on here. There's a new one coming out, did you know?

Also interested to see Signs on your Honorable Mentions. A lot of people really roast that movie, they give a lot of criticism about the aliens coming to a plane that's 70% water. But I don't care, I've always liked it.

Lots of good movies in this thread.

Signs is a good movie, M. Night Shyamalan is a cool director (Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense, Signs, etc.)

Despite the rape charges, Miloš Forman is a really talented director (Rosemary's baby, Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus, etc.)

Hunger Games franchise accentuated my past with my ex gf and ex wife around the times those movies were released. Its one of the nicest true puppy love movies I have ever seen. Think I know about the new movie, but allot personally and in the world has changed since 2015 to have the same resonation that had in the past.

That's true, now that you mention it. You'd think she would have chosen the more aggressive Gale instead of Peeta, but that's not the case. I read the books. When it starts out, it looks like it's going to be a Battle Royale type of film with kids killing each other, with a Twilight style love triangle. But it ends up being a political story. I thought it was a mistake that they turned the third book into two movies, they stretched it out too much.

You don't hear much about Amadeus anymore, it used to be considered a big movie and was heavily spoofed. Made F. Murray Abraham's career. Same with Cuckoo's Nest, you don't hear about it as much anymore.

I try to watch all of M. Night Shamylan's movies, I'm not even sure why. His earlier ones were really good, then he started to fall off. I like The Village too, but that's another movie that gets a lot of criticism (people don't think they could have successfully lived so isolated). My main gripe with it is what kind of father lets his blind daughter go off to collect medicine for her loved one? Get off your high horse and go get it for her, I don't care what kind of oath you took.

I guess it's a true blue-pill fantasy, but in all honesty Peeta did have some skills, and Gale wasn't in those games and Peeta admitted to having a secret crush on Katniss on national television, so in a sense it's like Peeta earned Katniss' love. Had Gale been on those games instead of Peeta I don't know. For a puppy love sort of movie this was just great.

On the political side, Mockingjay 1 & 2 was more intensely into that. However, say if I like dystopian political movies, older movies like V for Vendetta or Children of Men strike have been re-watched more often than Hunger Games. Honestly, I thought I would be re-watching (Hunger Games movies) more regularly since I was really into it. When the sequels came out I was really excited to see where that story was going and apart from Catching Fire, actually watched the other 3 movies in the cinema when they were playing. Instead, I stumbled upon a TV-Show, called The 100, which has some aspects like Hunger Games, and while I've stalled-out on Season 5, I hope to look at the series again one day in the future.

There is another interesting movie I did not mentioned called Passengers (2016), which also starred Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. One can make a similar argument in that movie, did Chris (known as Jim in the movie) Chad/Chadlite looks lead Aurora (Jennifer) to accept him in the end and even risk her life to save his? They were the only hetrosexual, man and woman, in a ship full of sleeping passangers.

I kind of hate when they do this. Maybe Harry Potter is partly to blame for starting this trend of splitting the final book in a couple of movies. I think twilight did it next.

While not based on a book (but on comic books instead), I feel Avengers 3 kind of did this. Endgame has some cool stuff but I cant shake this little voice in the back of my head telling me it was an unnecesary film. Thor overpowering 6 stones Thanos at the end of Infinity War but still failing to stop the Snap felt anti climatic and just like an excuse from the writers to have a second, unnecesary movie.

Maybe its not completely Harry potter´s fault. If we go back a bit further, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 were shot back to back and to me they kind of felt like they should have been one movie. Going back even further, I think I kind of feel something similar for Back to the Future 2 & 3.

And the trend continues. If Im not mistaken, John Wick 4 & 5 are going to be shot back to back.
