This is essentially untrue.

1. There are PLENTY of STEM graduates that are citizens and unable to find jobs.
2. The massive number of foreigners at colleges is not due to a shortage of citizens, it is because they are leftist centers who PREFER foreigners over citizens.

I'm of two views on this. On the one hand, I agree that what you're saying is true to some extent. At the same time, it is also true that the average American is not interested in STEM. Those jobs are just not considered cool anymore.

You make it sound like all skilled workers can get in. It's just not that simple.

Our country is long, overdue, for immigration reform. Not only are our policies too generous, many people in our country are undocumented. That's not OK. So not only do we need to reform our laws, we need to enforce them and have a secure Southern border.

An individual who's not a naturalized US citizen or legal permanent resident should not be eligible for welfare. Period.

Not for free college, grants, scholarships, a driver's license or ID, food stamps - if it's government-subsidized, they shouldn't have it. It's not a difficult concept to understand, really. All these people outraged at ICE, outraged at deportations, don't understand that when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Enter the US illegally, and you shouldn't be surprised when you're snatched up and extradited.

ICE is doing their job. They exist to keep our country secure.

Polarizing things and making them about male vs female, doesn't help anything. You're unnecessarily making immigration, an issue already turned through the lens of liberalism into a race issue when it isn't one, into a sex/gender one. If someone has good skills and can contribute to American society in some way, what's in their pants is of little import.

In theory, there are not enough Americans willing to do certain types of jobs. Not just fruit picking but also a lot of the STEM jobs that your average American considers boring, nerdy, uncool or just too complicated. Go to any college and look at who's studying math, computer science, engineering, etc. It's basically all Asians. How we got to this point is a different story.

As an "early retired" white American STEM, I must interject that engineers tend to have a half-life of the typical woman's Sexual Market Value.

If you know any other way than taxation to collect the necessary funds to provide schools and streets, I'm willing to listen.

Actually immigration provides economic growth for both groups, the natives and the immigrants.

Which is why many countries have taken in immigrants, even small countries like Singapore encourages immigration but they have standards on people to enter since they don't have much land to begin with.

Immigrants provide cheap labour and are also are known to be risk takers, often setting up businesses and hiring more people. It's a perpetual cycle used to enrich countries for centuries.

Natives doesn't actually compete with them headon into sectors normally deemed low end, and for those that does compete its also good because it raises productivity for the whole nation.

And some of these immigrants do return to their birth countries bringing with them a wealth of knowledge that is used to propel those poorer out of their slump.

This in turn offers employment and gives the govt taxes.

It's a win win situation for everyone.
