Comraderie amongst runners?

Running is very hard and boring, but I do it anyway since it makes me feel good when I am done.

I noticed if I am running a trail and another runner is coming in the opposite direction we will usually nod or wave to each other.

I always felt since running involves suffering(hard factor mentally), we have a special bond and can empathize with each other.

Other runners agree?

The same attitude is prevalent among many downhill skiers and competitive bowlers also. Done all those. It’s the shared commitment and experience aspect of the sport coming to the surface.
Easier to make friends when you share an interest…

Yep, it's respect for those that grind.

Yes. I have made a lot of friends through running as well. Plus women runners often have the body type I love. Gives a common topic of conversation.
