I am actually two semesters away from getting my BA in Bus Admin with a concentration in management. Pretty much, if you have a degree in management, you can do anything. Other concetnrations in bus admin include accounting, financing, logistics, info sytems, marketing, etc. Now, at my school, Bus Admin is the general major for all those areas I listed above. Here are some career paths:

accounting: auditor, controller, accountant, payroll specialist, etc.

logistics: logistics planner, logistics auditor, logistics manager.

info systems: sys admin, system engineer, info system architect, etc.

financing: credit manager, financial planner, and a range of other things having to do with money.

marketing: some people say this is the toughest way to go as far as salary is concerned because you have to eat s*it for awhile, as this field tends not to pay as much and start you pretty low. BUT it does vary.

Manager: anything and everything. Manager, sales, auditor, you name it.

If you have a BA in Bus Admin, you can do almost anything, eeven if your concentration is in something else. hope this helps you out.

At my university they offer a BS in Business with a specific degree in either accountancy, finance, management, marketing, supply-chain management (logistics), business administration, economics, information systems (computers in business), and real estate.

Business administration is a general overview of business concepts, kinda like a summarization of the previously mentioned majors. From what I understand, it is similar to a management degree, yet more focused on theory than anything else. A management degree is more respected, from what I hear.

Now, like I said, they offer a BS in all business degrees, and my friend's university offers a BA in all business degrees. Also TurboOverCubicInches's university offers a BA in business degrees, so, what is the difference between a BS and a BA?

I have never heard of a BA in a business degree other than for economics.

i have a phd in economics, finance concentration. i do big time investment analytics and teach MBA's, ...for what its worth.

go for the BS rather than the BA. few schools offer a BA in Business. BS is more 'science' oriented.

PS: you don't learn squat in undergrad :)

the Accounting function is being shipped overseas, specifically to India, and driving wages here in the US down (for the better in my opinion). buyer beware with an Accounting degree, long term.
