Asian hair styling

Well, i'm asian...
I've always hated my hair(style?). I haven't found a style for it that i like, and most barbers seem to fail hard at cutting asian hair.
I remember two years ago when i went to China, i got my haircut and the asian people there styled and cut my hair nicely, but i never bothered to find out more about how they cut it or what the style might be called, etc.

So are there any particular places i might find a good place to get my hair cut?
Also, i'm not sure if it is hair gel i'm looking for, but say i wanted my hair to stick up something like this:

most stylists (great clips) suck hard at cutting hair... i have no idea how they even are allowed to cut hair.

i'm asian too btw.

alright, so i went to a great clips a couple months ago when i buzzed my hair... i asked them to do a buzz-mohawk to my hair (kinda like UFC). they completely failed and my mohawk was COMPLETELY jagged and there was not one straight line on my head where they cut. they charged me $12 for a 2 minute job.

so i went o my local barber shop that's been run down and extremely dirty... but he's been in business since i was a baby.

his name is chuck, he charges $2... and they call him two-buck-chuck.

he absolutely owned the other people at cutting hair... he's like 60+ and has more of a steady hand than the idiots at great clips.

moral of the story is... it doesn't matter how much you pay... go for the person with more experience.

I used to waste a lot of time and money styling my hair with gel. Mornings were the worse since my hair would be sticking out everywhere from sleeping, so I would have to blow dry and then style.

I understanding what you're saying about so called hairstylist. Most of them know how to charge a lot but do not know what they're doing with shears. I used to have a great hairstylist and my hair looked great, but he changed professions and since then I have not found a good hairstylist. So one day I pulled out the electric clipper, set it to #2 and never looked back.

It's great, now I cut my own hair whenever I want, save on gel, get up and go in the morning, and I think it looks pretty good.

Might wanna give it a try.

I would have said the same thing. Friends are always around you. They know what will look good on you. It is really easy to make friends, read "How to make friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie for tips. I am really sorry if I was a bit harsh.

And i know where my a lot of my friends get their hair cut. However, i've already tried most places they go to and some of the places i know aren't that good.
