I have to disagree, Disney has gotten crapped on for the Little Mermaid & Snow White remakes due to race primarily.

So I was at a pool party. There was a black girl dressed as the cornrows Ariel. And a white girl dressed as the red head. Both in the mermaid tail and all. Guess who got more attention, even from kids? The white one. I never chuckled so hard.

It is cheap. I swear they make these abominations just so that they have something to screech about when they get called out for being talentless hacks. These movies aren't failing because they're race swapped, they're failing because the show producers and the disney corporation continue to insult their customers when they complain that the product is garbage.

But on the flip side, their focus on woke cult ideology is costing them even more money than they're admitting to losing. To the point that the shareholders are suing them for lying about their cash flow.

The studios can either flush the woke activists down the toilet, or they can go broke.


On a separate note, you have already seen AI actors in movies without knowing. They have been using them as extras for a while now.

The Golden Age of Hollywood (i.e., from the advent of sound to about 1970) co-existed with the combo-generation of the GI & Silent Generations. These were generations where folks got along to first get out of the Depression, then win WW2, then build the Post-WW2 economy & Cold War dominance - and conformity ruled the culture. Women were thrilled to have a good Beta husband, and even though they were attracted to the fame & Hollywood good-looks of entertainers, they knew that it was best of them to have a man than to be alone, and the cultural zeitgeist reinforced this - so much so that these Hollywood stars were always remarrying after divorcing. Except for a few gangster, teen-anguish & Film Noir flicks, the movies were generally upbeat & glamorous.

Of course, the Baby Boomers were a huge turn away from this, and the movies tended to take on a darker tone that matched the times. However, this was also the rise of the summer blockbuster (e.g., Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc.), and with continued development of special effects, as well as the globalization of movies, it made more sense for Hollywood to make stupid comic-book action movies (i.e., where the dialog & plot were stupid to begin with, but could be easily dubbed into other languages), until we have the ridiculous situation we have today.

Of course, what has been added in recent times is an utter abomination of Woke. I suppose that having a black Cinderella or sexually ambiguous Ken, etc. gets chicks & persons of color into the theatre seats. That said, we still have some great movies being made, like Joker & Oppenheimer.

No offense to my brothers out there but when they made the new James Bond 007 a black chick, thats when I personally threw in the towel into any big movie companies. Not sure if JB is Hollywood but it's all the same woke BS. To be honest though, I can understand the sentiment behind some of these things. I'm all for inclusivity but it has to be organic, not top-down like the BS they have these days.

It is. JB is more involved with British Film, but Hollywood is deeply connected to them since they constantly make grads from the cinema school there into stars. There's a lot of British actors that are stars who learn how to use an American accent so that they can hide their nationality. A lot of the big stars are composed in this order from greatest to least: of jews, british, and then americans third.

I did manage to watch the first 20 minutes of the movie, and definitely would like to see the rest of this movie. They have some interesting character choices (ie Triton being casted by Javier Bardem (ie anyone who saw No Country For Old Men (2007) and James Bond: Skyfall (2012), especially if these two movies were seen recently, I would say that's an odd choice for Trioton). Awkwafina being voice-casted as Scuttle took me a bit out of the moment. She has this husky upbeat voice, and I've seen in her in a number of other movies as that comic relief. Other than that, I didn't see any issue at all with the casting choice for Ariel (Halle Bailey). It's actually cool that this is an unknown actress with me as I haven't really seen in her in any other movies and at least great to see a fresh face added within the movie that's not type-casted with other movies.

I would definitely like to see the rest of this movie and think this will be a defining role for Halle Bailey, as far as her acting career is concerned. It's good they didn't choose any other A-list actresses or type-casted actresses that made a name for themselves in other movies, to portray her as I think it would have put more of a focus on the actress than the character.

They never really were that great. People are just mad that the Feel-Good Popular movies are catering to a broader audience now rather than stroking off the white male trope wagon.

The only difference was the old heroes were lauded because they were heroes.

The new minority/women heroes are lauded basically because they have different coloured skin or a vagina. There’s always some reference.
