The American market is near exhausted and saturated with debt. China is in the process of developing new markets into which it can sell its consumer goods... the fastest growing being its own domestic one. There is nothing written in stone that says China must produce and America consume for all time. History works the other way - where there is a 'master/ slave' dynamic, the slave eventually gets the better of the master.
Not in the foreseeable future.

No worries, China, Japan and others will keep borrowing to America. They will happily do it.

The silk road initiative will likely take 50 years to see any tangible results, meanwhile Americans can learn to be more productive again?

True. However current realities begs to differ.

So let's hope Trump gets impeached before he takes the US into another war.

As for his bully tactics against the rest of the world in isolating Iran, this could come back to bite them in the ass - there will be now every incentive to change the global economic system.

Now he's just another prostitician. I will give him this: He did some things he said he would, as a previous poster noted. I'm not a fan of socialist protectionism for American companies that can't compete, but that's what he said he'd do and boom, tariffs (taxes) went up. I don't need to "feel good" about where my products are made. But I'm just one person and I don't even vote.

The USA doesn't need a president to do both foreign and domestic policy. I don't see why we don't just reassign the presidency to foreign policy and let Congress deal with domestic. Or have a president + prime minister.

Actually, that's a good point. The President has to wear two hats so to speak - one for his domestic audience, and the other as a player in the international arena. It is a complicated balancing act, which has proved to be too complex for Trump. All he is doing is playing to his base... with perhaps disastrous results for the international scene.

But as I said this will backfire. When the world can no longer trust the US, new alliances will be built and the balance of power shift. America's economy is already hollowed out - the only way they can support it, and maintain dominance, is through war-mongering.

If the Iran deal was for them to NOT build nuclear weapons, then why does Iran want to stay in the deal so badly?
Well, that was the deal. No development of nukes, no war.

By unilaterally breaking the deal, and making 12 ridiculous demands, the US has effectively made preparations for war. I actually question the sanity of the guys in charge now. Let's hope Trump gets impeached before he goes to war...… but.... it would be just like him to start a war as a distraction....o_O

The MSM brought themselves into disrepute, Trump merely stated the obvious.
Once 'the fourth estate' loses its counter-balancing power, as a real informative influence, then democracies days are numbered. The fourth estate/ the media, is an essential part of any democracy.

Trump is dangerous because he has brought the idea of it into disrepute. It's like bringing the idea of justice into disrepute.

But what was Iran getting out of the deal if they were to "not develop nukes"?
According to the joint statement in Switzerland, the P5+1 countries and Iran agreed on a framework for a deal. According to this framework, Iran would redesign, convert, and reduce its nuclear facilities and accept the Additional Protocol (with provisional application) in order to lift all nuclear-related economic sanctions, freeing up tens of billions of dollars in oil revenue and frozen assets.[9] In addition to the joint statement, the United States and Iran issued fact sheets of their own.[10]

Pulling out of the deal is a smart tactical move to maximise "profit".

You guys need to see this in a broader sense.

Iran needs all the political goodwill it can muster from the Europeans, they need it to maintain their regime - you'll notice that the growing middle class and to some extent the rest of rural Iran has been trying to put in moderates into the ruling class, basically sending the message to take care of their own populace instead of warmongering in Yemen, Syria etc. There's war/economic/theological fatigue amongst the general populace, Iran today is not the Iran we once knew in the 80's or 90's.

The goodwill they are enjoying right now will evaporate if they take any steps towards building any nukes, and regime change by Iranians tired of hardships would be a possibility. Trump is likely to know this and is applying appropriate pressure to make changes in the approaches the regimes takes. So nukes is out of the equation.

What Trump is trying to do is basically forcing the regime to survive, and to do that all they need to do is stop sponsoring terrorism in other countries. And why is that bad?

I think Trump is one smart motherfvcker
