Since ranking up into the world of management, I’ve have joined another league it seems. I’m not in particularly good shape but I have obvious interest.

I won’t take advantage of it as I’m married and a father and I love my daughter too much to risk a broken home for her. So I’m not benefitting at all.

However, I really do dispute the idea looks are so important as status I believe is order of magnitude above.

Im not sure if the interest is less “I want to screw this guy” but it’s just a general attitude and obvious flirting that I’m not used to. Embarrassing at times for me. At first I reciprocated but I don’t want the reputational damage and also I don’t want to feel like I’m playing into the game.

A decade younger I’ve been lower down but Way more attractive and it was like pulling teeth.

I really do think women want status over all.
Thoughts?

I’ve never actually been super hench and buff. I’ve been reasonably fit and I’m tall so maybe top 30% at my absolute best so perhaps really buff guys have it even better.

either way it’s quite enjoyably if a little uncomfortable at times. I can’t understand why a title means so much, I still have a boss, I am just a few rungs up the peg, that’s all

Looks are most important to women who are on the prowl simply for sex. But otherwise, it goes in this order of magnitude IMO for women's attraction:

Social Status/Proof >>>>>>Money>>>>>>>>>>>>Looks

They all matter, and social status and money are generally closely tied together (but not always). But looks are probably the least important of the big three. Women get much more turned on by a man who is important, knows a lot of people, and those people listen to him. In other words, a leader.

The only women who will care that much about money are the ones with kids or with baby rabbies.

Power attracts women more than anything, even when power is criminal.

You only have conditional status tho, meaning it's only status in certain places and/or situations.

When you are out walking around the city nobody stops and says "OMG! There is that Middle Manager over at XYZ!"

You only have that at work and then only in some situations.

Looks travel with you 24/7/365.

Your status only travels with you a few hours a day and not on holidays, vacations or weekends.

I concur with most of the above. It is situational.

social status is a hard thing. This is not a boast but my wife is 11 years younger but she also looks younger, she looks about 25. I am early 40s. As she is Asian, I’ve noticed a lot of groups don’t want to know us. They either think I’m a dirty old man, I suspect it’s the womenfolk.

It is pretty hard because basically it is racist. It’s a stereotype and shaming tactic for men. If a woman had a younger black boyfriend they’d be celebrating it.

we don’t get invited on holiday trips much, I just find out the wife who organised it didn’t invite us. It’s cutting down my social life massively. However, I’m still getting interest from women I wasn’t before.

being honest when I was younger, in a group, you’d always get a dude who was dead set on being the leader. I always resented dudes like that as I thought we are an equal group so who the F are you? Ultimately I would just walk away rather than be a simp. I never really developed my own “group” as I am just not that interested in socialising. So I just concentrate on work where I am most certainly a leader as I’ve built the skills and experience and I know my job well. Social groups I don’t feel so good in unless there is a clear hierarchy.

No idea why this is. I’m good socially, good at communicating. I think basically it’s the effort. I don’t find a lot of people interesting, I get bored doing dinner parties and I prefer things like golf or football. I don’t see how you build social status….outside work other than my fam I’m pretty lonely. It doesn’t help also my 2 best friends are dead, my other one is a full on alcoholic who I don’t want to see now and the other eventually I realised he’s a scumbag who tries to screw his friends wives and GF.
I’m in some male-only social organisations. I’ve tried developing couple-friends but they reverse out when they meet my wife, who is stunning….also she has little interest in British women as “all they want to do is drink like men” and she doesn’t drink.

Oh...forgot...here it's two separate things. Vacation is when you take PTO time off/go somewhere versus a holiday where you just have the day off...like Xmas or New Year or Thanksgiving or 4th of July, etc.

I think most places have between 10-15 holidays per year. Banks/schools have the most for sure.

We get 6 days a year but we generally get 5-6 week of holiday allowance from employers.

The national ones we call “bank holidays”. Christmas, Boxing Day, spring, easter Monday and Sunday, summer bank holidays.

Are you talking about chicks at work? If so, you might be conflating genuine attraction with the age old tactic of flirting with the boss.

100%. Moreover, the word 'chicks' might be doing some heavy-lifting if the women in question are overweight +30yrs old with kids.

So 'hens' would be more appropriate?
