It's been a while but I'm gonna update this. I've just got back from an over indulgent holiday & want to change things! My life is changing in general & I want the gym to be a big part of my life again moving forward.

I haven't been to the gym in around 3-4 months after I pulled my back deadlifting. My neck is always sore and my back aches. I play football and go jogging so cardio isn't too much of an issue. Diet is an issue & it is something I'm going to address.

I'm going to start off with 3 x 10 on resistance machines to build up some strength as well as yoga.

So I went to the chiropractor today. He said my back is extremely tense and needs a 6 week intense course of treatment to get me right.

He advised me that doing chest, back & shoulders in the gym is a no, no for now!

He said I could do cardio, squats & yoga for now!

I need to take things slow & build myself up gradually. I have a tendency to subscribe to 'all or nothing' thinking, which I can't do for now or i'll end up back where I am now.

I need to change my relationship with food. I comfort eat a lot. I love the gym but I've fell into the bad habit of prioritising other things over it.

I have been stressed for a long time & I think this has caused the back problems.

I am about 170lbs at 20% right now, which isn't good at all!

I am 25 & entering a new phase in my life. I am building a solid business & have moved on from the vast majority of my high school friends.

Truthfully it has been this way for a while, I've just stayed in between my new life & old one. It's relevant because it's causing me stress!

I am going to make a commitment to myself right now:

I will hit the gym at least 3 times a week
I will cut bad food out of my diet.
I will jog 4-5 mornings a week.
I will start training at American football again.

If I do the above every week, I'll be fine.

For the past 12 days I've eaten well & cut down my sugar consumption drastically. I feel tonnes better and my stomach is now flat again.

I haven't made it to the gym much, having only been once in the past 2 weeks, but I have been jogging and going to the chiropractor!

American football is probably going to be a new year thing, which I'm looking forward too.

On the whole I feel a lot better, which is great. I am a lot less stressed which I think is half the battle.

I am actually planning & building for the future, which is great!
