Does anyone else here do thai boxing/kickboxing?
I've been using thai boxing as my main source of cardio for a while now and it's been going pretty well.
Does anyone else here do this? if so what routines do you do? I use Bas Rutten's MMA Workout (www.basrutten.tv) and reccommend it i am thinking of coming up with my own combos soon though, since i've reached a stage where his are just a bit too basic for me now. |

I'm a tad confused.. do you train Muay Thai in a gym with a coach or do you do cardio kickboxing learnt from a dvd.. or both?
If its only from the dvd you shouldnt go changing the combos as its for cardio, and i doubt your even throwing the basics in correct form without a coach. Either way, heres a few combos to practice to mix it up abit (not sure what you know so far, so i'll just throw some out there)Assuming your righthanded: Left jab, right cross, left hook to body, right hook to head. Left jab, right cross, left jab, right cross, left hook to head. Left jab, step to the left offcenter - left hook to head folled by a quick overhand right (not sure how well this works in conventional stance, i'm southpaw.) One of my favorites: Left jab, left jab, quick right knee at solar plexus level, quick step back - roundhouse to whatevers open (hopefully the head if your knee landed). Left jab, Right hook to body while stepping forward, left and right upercut to body, right hook to head. My heavybag workout: Warm-Up: Five minutes on bike. Five minutes of joint rotations for legs waist, arms and shoulders. With these, form circles varying from large to small, at each joint. Light stretching of all major muscle groups. Part One: Drilling The Basic Punches. 40 right (or left) cross punches. 40 left (or right) jab punches. 40 left upper cuts. 40 right uppercuts. 40 left hooks. 40 right hooks. Note: Remember to perform each punch with maximum intensity. Do not speed up the movement to fast, at the expense of good form. Part Two: Combinations. Complete five sets of each of the following combinations. Left uppercut, right cross, left hook. Left (or right) jab, right (or left) cross, left (or right) jab. Right cross (or left), left hook (or right), right cross (or left). Left (or right) jab, right (or left) cross, left (or right) jab, right (or left) cross, left (or right) hook. Part Three: 10 Rounds Of Boxing. Each round should be three-minutes, with one minutes rest between rounds. Cool down: Five minutes on bike. Light stretching. |

All I can say to you young guys is remember keep your game and skills up. Once you turn 40, it turns out to be more of mental sex, than physical beating it out of the box. You will see. You may still hold a strong one, but women around your age is looking for more than just stamina. We know they want emotional sex, but technique is to weed through the stress of their day without taking it on.
The most common problem of men over 40 is ED (can't stay hard). Why? It is nothing physical. Purely mental. At that age, you johnson doesn't rise because she is cute and you said enough junk to make her come out of the panties. It is because you know she will work it right. Now after hearing all the complaints of a modern day women, you may not be up to it mentally. So, a good tai bo class can help you conentrate. while internal kiegel exercises will help you act like you are 20 again.
