A couple years back I was dating a girl that lived about 60 miles away and she used to come to mine every weekend, and after a while I paid towards her petrol, not all of it, think I paid about half. But to be fair, she made te effort to drive 60 miles every weekend, if it wasn't for my job id have gone to see her half the time, which would be the equivalent of paying half her petrol roughly, Sony had no problem giving that money to her, I think that's fair, especially as at the time I didn't have a car so she drove me everywhere etc.
At the end of the day questions like this are very broad. You haw to assess the specific situation and think, is this reasonable? Or is she taking advantage of me? The girl I was dating would have come anyway, even if I didn't pay her petrol, but I just felt it was fair, seeing as she was making all the effort and picking me up from work etc. if the girl will only come to see you if you'll pay her petrol, then that's a different situation.
And if this is a girl you've never met before, then absolutely no way would I pay her gas, there's every chance that she would just keep the money and not turn up!
