In the age we live in, most guys have looked at porn both intentionally and accidentally on the internet.

Religion with its traditional views has always opposed it but it has been easy for us to ignore their views as they are also against the use of condoms.

I use to look at porn occassionally, well more than I liked to anyway and one day when I was watching hardcore pornography (full on sex scene) and I wasn't even at all aroused I realised that there was a problem.

I'd always felt guilty about watching porn and after looking at this site I am currently over 100 days porn free and have no intention of stopping. More importantly, I FOUND THAT GIVING UP PORN HAS IMPROVED MY SUCCESS WITH WOMEN.

I think that after 40 days of no porn and also I gave up masturbation my brain realised that 'hey! I'm not getting an orgasm unless a girl gives it to me' and this change of mindset gave me increased confidence and a desire to be with women. I no longer feel ashamed of my sexuality which makes me a more sexual person (I'm sure you know the benefits of this).

When you look at porn you can rationalise not talking to that girl at the party or bar because you tell yourself 'oh well I'll still get to have an orgasm tonight watching porn so it doesn't really matter whether I talk to her or not'. Don't make approaching girls harder than it needs to be

An interesting idea that is argued on the link is that when you feel 1. Guilty about looking at porn and 2. Nervous about being caught your body responds to how it usually does in 'dangerous' states of high emotion and releases an increased amount of adrenaline into your body.

Remember the first time you clicked past that "You must be over 18 to view this video, are you over 18?" page when you were younger and how you felt apprehensive about whether somehow you would get caught.

Having an increased level of adrenaline heightens the release of dopamine (a hormone in the brain which makes you feel good, released during orgasm and looking at porn) which in turn rewires your brain crave the sensations of adrenaline and dopamine again (which is why people look at porn again).

Basically, over time the amount of dopamine released by the brain decreases. Suddenly, the bikini pictures are as exciting for you and you go looking for more hardcore, new, explicit material. By constantly seeking 'novelty' men become desensitised to sexual stimulus and explains the amount of very, very hardcore and often disgusting porn on the internet. Once normal sex becomes 'vanilla and boring' people go looking for other videos such as anal, domination, transexual so that they get their fill of 'novelty' and to increase the dopamine release in their brains.

It does sound like I'm underdeveloped or something lol eh? I'm 20 and a half. I've probably been watching girls in skimpy swimsuits since... 11?

They would have calculated these figures using BMI (Body Mass Index) A somewhat accurate measure of whether a person's body weight is healthy.
If you get a score of
<20 you are classified as underweight
20-25 health weight
25-29 overweight
>30 Obese

The BMI isn't particularly effective because it doesn't take muscle mass into consideration (eg. A lot of rugby and NFL players are considered obese even though they are elite athletes).

What I imagine they should have said is that by the BMI index
66% of Americans are either classified as Overweight or Obese
and that 35% are classified as Obese

My take is that masturbating to porn is TOO EASY.
Hell, you can bust a nut to porn even if you're been drained and stressed out. For this people turn to more and more extreme porn.

Uh, that has very much to do with the natural decline of libido. You peak at ~17 and it's all downhill from there. Women supposedly peak at ~29.
