Well I've been lifting very consistently for about two weeks now.
Been lifting heavy low-medium reps, havent implemented cardio yet, been working on my diet but I need to make it even better. I'm a tall guy, about 6'3 and I weigh about 170. I'm looking to cut up and gain a little mass at the same time. My main first goal is to get cut... I'd rather look like a ripped and small bruce lee than a bulky but fat football player without cuts. So anyway with the addition of diet and cardio, I plan to bring the weight down a little bit now so that I can go for higher reps and get the cuts. Anyways can you guys give me some advice on supplements? Creatine? or something else I should take to start seeing the cuts and puttin on a little mass? anyway appreciate the advice.... thanks guys!

The body doesn't work that way.. you are either cutting up or bulking up. Pick one. By the sound of it, I don't think fat is your problem. So i'd recommend putting on mass... looking like a fat football player isn't something you'll be worrying about in the near future. Do you expect to put on 60 - 80 lbs of mass overnight? I don't think so. I never understood the logic of a beanpole saying "I don't want to get TOO big.... it's like you're dreaming ahead 18 steps.. worry about putting any kind of mass on that frame first before worrying about having too much of it. Dont get me wrong I DO want mass.
But my priority is to get the cuts first. Once I get the cuts ill be at least satisfied with the way I look.... from there I can slowly add on mass while maintaining the cuts... by the football players I mean these guys you see that are really huge, but have a lot of fat covering their abs and dont have deep cuts. Its not that I dont want their size muscle wise, but I dont want to sacrifice muscle mass for cuts. see what I mean?

Bulk up then cut. If you cut then bulk up, you'll have to cut again. It seems very logical to me.

Well this is what everyone has been telling me....
To bulk you do high weight with low reps, and eat big. To cut you do low weight with high reps and eat little + cardio. Now what I was thinking on doing was doing med-high weight with med-high reps, while implementing cardio and a lean diet with protein, fruits, veggies, but not too much calories. I was hoping that I would cut up quick, and gain some bulk at the same time.... any takes on this?

Uh..no. Read my GUIDE TO CUTTING for more info Quote:
I see where you're going with this... but ABSOLUTELY WRONG. read my GUIDE TO CUTTING to find out why you are wrong. Quote:
Let's see how dumb this sounds. So if cutting is achieved by creating a negative calorie balance... and mass is achieved by creating a surplus.. how do you expect to do both at the same time? Please explain that to me. Quote:
you have no clue how the body works. Reality check: if you weigh 170 lbs at 6'3" YOU HAVE NO NOTICEABLE MASS TO CUT UP. Bulk first then cut. Get up to at least 190-195 before you even think of cutting. At your present weight you'll end up at 155-160 lbs. if you try to 'cut' - you're going to end up looking like a fukking starving Ethiopian. Follow my BULKING post... you won't get fat. And quite reading Muscle and Fitness..it's filling your head with garbage. |

Its winter time.. i dont see why u care about being cut up right now lol. i mean .. im going to try to bulk up until maybe march or april, and then cut, so ill have a nice body for the summer http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/smile.gif. sound like a good idea? i seem to ha ve a problem with eating tho lol. i never really want to eat a lot, just to the point wher i feel satisfied(which isn't enough to bulk up) and then stop. guess ill just have to take it all in like a vacuum ;P.
