I Always Feel So D*** Tired

Hey,

In working on changing myself into a better person through this forum (you can get an idea of my situation through this active thread: http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?t=137164 , I have realized that I never seem to have as much energy as everyone else. Over the past few months, I have tried (for a day or two) to go to bed early (9PM) instead of my normal (11PM) on weeknights. I usually get up at 6:10AM to my alarm for school. On the weekends, I go to bed around midnight and wake up around 9AM-10AM. But I still feel out of it and tired all day.
I have tried exercising (running on treadmill for 30 minutes, some crunches, a little more-no weights) for a few days before and while I noticed that I felt a lot better after exercising for the next couple hours, the next day I didn't really feel it anymore.
My diet is usually very healthy (compared to other, even more energetic people). It consists of balanced meals with the meat usually being red meat or chicken. I eat salads/vegetables nearly every day. My breakfast consists of just cereal or Ego waffles or pop tarts complimented with a small glass of orange juice and a vitamin-C tablet.
As far as my personal build, I am tall (a little over 6 feet) and a bit skinny (I weigh around 140lbs). Also, I am 17 years old. I don't have any abs and for some odd reason for a long time, there hasn't been much more than like a half-centimeter of flesh between my ribs and skin.
So, any suggestions to get me to feel more awake and energetic everyday? As I mentioned, I have tried things, but they haven't seemed to have worked. I just always seem out of energy and tired.

Thanks!

most important thing, try waking up the same time every day. even weekends. it makes an incredible difference.

you've been told that's a healthy breakfast. it's actually terrible. try either oatmeal or eggs. cereal/waffles/pop tarts are all full of carbs that will cause you to crash almost right away. the o.j. makes it worse.

if you don't like the skinniness, you'll have to lift weights.

Listen to Throttle.

He is exactly right.

I know because I actually switched to an eggs breakfast and scheduled myself to wake up at about the same time every day during my last big health kick and I felt better than ever and I had that same unrelenting tiredness you speak of until I did that.

Oh, and give up caffeine entirely if at all possible (as he slugs back another diet dew...hey, we all have vices!) If you don't drink caffeine, esp. after dinnertime, you might look into other things that might be disrupting your sleep.

Otherwise, judging from the other thread, you have a melancholic disposition. You need to find some things you enjoy & can look forward to, and embrace them.
