Jared Fogle

I am beyond disappointed at this one. Jared was someone I personally looked up to before this, having lost about 1/2 the weight he did at one time. I only eat at Subway once every 2-3 months of so. But I always wonder when I walk into one "I wonder if Jared will be here today!". He came to a Subway not far from me years ago but I couldn't make it. He had free subs the rest of his life. Plenty of money to live, and a decent looking wife. Kids.. Now the only sub he will be getting is the one from bubba up his azz. :trouble:

They didn't specify how old the sub-18s he was looking at were.

If they were sub-12-year-olds then yeah I can't relate to the guy's fetish.

But if they were aged 12-17, I'm writing it off as "backwards united states culture strikes again!" SHAME! SHAME THOSE WHO WOULD DEFY OUR SILLY IRRATIONAL CULTURE!!!!

All through history, 12-14 year olds were fair game for marriage. Suddenly in the past 100 years, its out of style, and subject to persecution. I'm not jumping in with the crowd.

The last I read, there were texts about him fvcking 16 y/os off of craigslist. They may have found a naked pic of her that she sent him, possession of which would be child porn.

I think the dude who worked for him was the sicko, but anyone with fame and money will have a target on their back in the Feds' eyes. That's assets they can seize. I think the Feds run their show like a business. The DEA head used to brag about his agency being self-supporting, in that they seized more money than they got from the taxpayers.

Of course, it's all about who gets what. 90% of wars are fought on this premise. You know the wars that are not over this, they are the ones that everybody supports. Even the Revolutionary War was fought over the Americans getting taxed more because they had more stuff. Come to think of it, it seems the only American wars NOT fought over stuff like that was the 2 World Wars - those were just to stop a bunch of crazy people.

Men are attracted to signs of youth and fertility. 16 is the age of consent where I live. I thought one of the tenets of SoSuave was that men were not supposed to be shamed for their natural sexual desires.

I agree with Piranha that the US is kind of backwards in this respect, but I personally would not mess with a 16 year old. Such a girl would still be in high school in the US and not really considered an adult. Wouldn't be worth it. But I do think it is natural for a male to be attracted to young, post-pubescent girls - nature has made them able to be impregnated, so it's hard to argue with that.

Right, however, just because you're attracted to someone doesn't mean you should act on those urges, obviously.

He did agree to this plea deal so there may be more to this story than meets the eye. Otherwise, maybe he just got too big for his britches - thought since he was "Jared" that he was above the law and would never get caught - which happens.

This is an extreme version of a weak man right here. He got so caught up in his sexual urges that they compelled him to resort to these actions and blow what was otherwise, seemingly, a good life.. Average men too often succumb to sexual urges too at times they should not, but to women, not to children.

I go back to what I have posted before here on SS many times. As men as a collective, our sexual desires are what got us in trouble post 1950s or whenever there abouts (by giving up our powers to women in exchange for sex or the possibility of it) And it's what continues to get us in trouble today. Though most not to Jared's extreme unlawfulness and sickness. Most just to our own stupidity.

I agree. I think our ability to use rational thinking in the midst of our natural desires is what makes our souls, it's what makes us human and not animals. So no, we shouldn't be shamed for HAVING those desires, but we can be shamed/punished/killed for ACTING on those desires in certain circumstances. Which brings me to this:

This is true. One thing we have to figure out is where that line is, and it fluctuates (age of consent different in different places, as has been pointed out). And man.....look at all the domestic violence out there right now that so trendy. You KNOW how all those crimes went down.....the man is frustrated with the female, who probably has low interest, and hitting her is the only way to keep her attention. Not being able to handle sexual attraction is ripping men apart.....fathers are not teaching this topic to their sons. There is basically ZERO guidance for it out there for fatherless kids. As weird as it sounds, we SHOULD be talking to young men about women, masturbation, prostitution, porn, etc. I'm not condoning any of those things but we HAVE to talk about them. This urges have to be controlled and channeled into something positive, instead of letting it control them. In other words, the red pill truth.

Also, even if its young teens, its still wrong. Its not the US being backward. Its that adults should have some form of moral compass not to sexually prey on the mentally and physically immature and inexperienced.

In what world is it an insult to say someone is being willfully blind when they actually looked over the facts in a case like this? A couple of posters made comments defending Jared's attraction to young teens, when he's also in trouble for targeting prepubescent girls. Its a factual statement to highlight that someone's initial defense of Jared is blind when they overlook a big fact like that.

Just because I am blunt does not mean I am insulting you. I told you to quit complaining and to get over this little grudge you hold onto. Thread after thread on this forum you do not seem to let things go.
