how to attract girls on craigslist?

hi, wow I am really new to all of this, but this seems like a friendly community. I am basically a BAFC or AFC... somehow it feels good to know that there is a label for this. lol I am really introverted and tend to not like to approach people and just want to study and work hard and meet girls that way. But I know if I do that then I will probably have to go without for years at a time, and probably date whoever I'm lucky enough to meet, and they will probably always be 5s or 6s.

Right now I don't have too many social outlets... I am unemployed and not in school. I'll be starting school in the fall though. Anyways since I'm shy and don't get out much, I tend to troll a couple of internet dating sites to try and meet girls. The one that I find intriguing is Craigslist, because there are so many new girls on there all the time. And I am pretty good at telling which ones are real. (The ones that aren't will email you back with a link to a website or somesuch.)

The interesting thing about Craigslist is that the girls probably get about 50-200 responses to their ads. I write some pretty thoughtful responses, but usually I only get a reply about one out of 20 times, even if we have some things in common. And usually the ones that do reply are homely. It's kinda weird writing girls this way because right away you are put in the position of being the one who wants them, since you are writing them. It's kinda hard to play it cool when you are the one who is vying for their attention. And most of the time they don't even write back so they have essentially rejected you before you even get a chance to play it cool. If I can get them to chat with me, then usually I can get it to the point of going on a date.

I'm curious how the wisdom of the Pick-up Artist community would apply to this situation. What should I say in an initial email? Also, if I'm unemployed does that make a big difference? Or is it all how you talk to them? I usually say, I'm a musician and a student, blah blah blah. I guess that's not as good as being gainfully employed in the eyes of a woman, though it suits me just fine. I'm sure most of you probably don't need to troll CL to get women, but like I said I'm in a desperate situation and this is what I've resorted to bc at least I've gotten a couple of dates that way. Any suggestions, or advice to an AFC who is just trying to figure this all out, would be much appreciated.

I've been messing around on CL for about the past 6 months and this is what I found from my experience.

1. I have the most success in the Strictly Platonic section. Think this is because women can justify posting there to their friends or anyone that may see their posting. It may state in the post that they are only looking for a friend or some bs, but you can usually start if off friendly with them and then progress it once you finally meet them in person.

2. Responding quickly after a post goes up will help your response rate. It's true that theses girls get tons of e-mail. They will respond to the first several somewhat interesting e-mails and then narrow the selection from there. You can notice this by how fast the legit postings are taken down. Two sayings come to mind here. A) He who hesitates, masturbates. B) First to contact is first to contract.

3. Keep the first e-mail short. Way short. Only give here enough to spark her interest. She'll ask questions and you can build interest (and have something to talk about) when she responds.

4. Always include a picture on the first e-mail.

5. I've had better responses with the postings that don't have a picture. But as you can imagine you get some response of girls that are way below your league.

6. Make them have to justify themselves to you in their first response. The way I do this is I'll write something like this: "Yeah girl, I'd love to go have some random fun with you. Well...... and long as you're not a nut." Emphasis on the word nut. You can use this to work in some C&F once they respond.

7. Its a number game. The majority of the postings, at least in Vegas are crap. I'd say its like 80%+ crap. Then add in the fact that you're not going to be every girls type. Once you narrow it down, your 5% (1 in 20) response rate is normal. Just hit every legit posting up.

8. Want to know who's your competition? Make a fake w4m post and see what guys are responding. This is a good way to learn what to write on the first response. Kind of fun too if you ask me.

9. Have a good subject line in your first e-mail. Don't use what they used. It'll get your e-mail noticed.

Thats all that can come to mind right now and I have to get back to bed. I'll add more later if something comes to mind.

One last note. A lot of people don't work while going to school. You're in school to get a job when you come out. Its no issue at all so stop worrying about it.

very interesting, thanks. that's pretty much the opposite of what I do. I'll have to try some of this stuff. I'm so clueless I actually thought it appears less desperate to write a few days after they post. Usually when I try to be C & F, I end up scaring them away. This one girl I had interested and I was trying to be funny and I said, yeah 45 miles away is still within my range so watch out. And she never wrote back. To me that is funny, but I guess I have to find out what to them is funny.

I tried the craigslist thing and it never worked out for me. If you spend that same time and effort and just go out to a store and start talking....youll get MUCH better results.

It might seem like a big step...to just talk to a chick. But you can start small and get big. Think about it. if you are too shy to talk to a girl and you hide yourself through a computer and talk to them through craigslist...IF..if it did work out and you meet up. You would get AUTOMATICALLY nexted. Why?
Because your body language, your voice tone, the way you talk. The way you talk, walk, etc. Do you slouch? The girl who mightve been interested in you will AUTOMATCALLY see this and might get second thoughts. The chances of meeting a girl through craigslist for us is pretty rare in the first place. Why place such chance into it? How bout if it doesn't work out? Now your back at square one. No experience, and wait for another few weeks on craigslist to get another date. Hopefully you get my point.

You can get 10x the results by just going out for 1-2 days and trying to talk to asy...20 girls.. I am making up the numbers, but you get my point. Im telling you from personal experience. Just my two cents.
