Examples of incidents include:

  • unwanted or uninvited sexual advances
  • physical or verbal assault
  • unwanted or uninvited physical or verbal contact or engagement
  • use of mobile phones to send unwanted or uninvited messages
  • or take photographs without consent.
Anyone affected by misogynistic hate crime is being asked to contact police without hesitation.

Right, because women need protection in the west from the big bad "creepers". They don't fight feminist law in east Africa and every country ending in "stan" though, because don't punch down to those poor dark skinned people who are the victims of white colonialism...

England..1/16 of my heritage..oh how the mighty have fallen.

How are you supposed to get any ass if a woman has that much control over you? It baffles me that there are men so weak in this world that they conceived this idiotic law
Go for the one's who want it. This only protects those who doesn't and if you do nothing to them, they have no power.

As long as a woman doesnt like you and you ignore her by going after her cute friend, then she will magically report you to "protect" her friend and you will be taken to the police station no question asked.

This law is an idiot version of 1984s law.

Reminds me of soviet russia or nazi germany when someone wanted his neightbour's house and reported him just to have him sent away and get the house himself...guilty untill proven otherwise.

I don't know if where you come from it's illegal to make false accusations, but it is here. Also, don't you think the police is aware there are batsh!t crazy revengeful b!tches out there who make false reports? If they have nothing to show for their claims it's just claims, thus the fear is an irrational one.

@LiveFreeX I don't care what you think anymore, I have absolutely zero respect for your points of view.

@KingofPuss She can claim harrassment, but if she doesn't have any other evidence she's not to be taken seriously.

The police can't accept only an accusation to be enough. The justice system can't accept only an accusation to be enough. If you go to the police accusing anyone of anything they will demand evidence.

Is it illegal to make false accusations? I mean, I know it is, but in practice is it?

And what is the punishment?
I live in Norway so I'm only sure of what laws we have here, but I would think it's common in many countries. It's illegal to falsely accuse someone of a crime to the police. If you're thinking it's illegal to accuse someone to their face, it's not.

This is intended to make it unappealing for people to abuse the legal system to punish someone they don't like, but it doesn't prevent people from publicly speaking bullsh!t.

In Norway the punishment for making false accusations is a fine or prison up to 1 year depending on the seriousness of it.

This is a case from earlier this year of a woman convicted of making false accusations of rape, she got 7 months for it. It's in Norwegian, so run it through your favorite translator. http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2016/03/30/Kvinne-dømt-for-falsk-anklage-12535291.ece

Grewd, I get what you are saying...
However, these "misogynistic hate crimes" have been made way too ambiguous. In fact, their very definition for misogyny is ridiculous and can comprise anything. According to the list me just walking up and saying a woman and simply saying she is sexy can be misconstrue as a hate crime so long as she considers it unwanted. Also, unwanted texts and the such are not hate crimes... at the worst it is just harassment. You need to understand that a "hate crime" means, how it is defined, and what it entails. Hate crimes are criminal offenses and at least here in the US it can involve prosecution at the federal level instead of just the local or state level. With that consideration I think it is not absurd for posters here to be a bit distraught at the fact that a group of law enforcement officials have done this and redefined a hate crime to involve things which are certainly not hate crimes. What I mean to say is that hate crimes are considered more severe than just harassment, and they are in their own category. Certainly they have laws against false accusations, but in this case they are trying to broaden the definition of hate crimes to include simple harassment. Therefore, in this case if a woman accuses me of sending her unwanted texts then I have, by the definition of that, done something that is considered a hate crime. This kind of thing is very troubling...

The problem here, and I am sure you agree with this is that we should not allow the law and law enforcement to be like this. It is too ambiguous, and it seems to be pushing an agenda (feminism). In such respects I think we all here would agree that this is very dubious.

Is that the usual amount of time received by women for false claims?

That certainly is not the case in the US.
The UVA case which was a total fabrication, the woman gets of free with no jail time.
The Ohio state case where a woman claimed she was raped when there is VIDEO evidence of her giving oral sex to a man willingly and then walking away on her own and buying a burrito. She got off without any legal punishment. http://www.titleixforall.com/ohio-university-rape-false-scandal-jenny-hall-jones/

In fact, I am trying to look through all the famous cases of accused rape which were debunked and I cannot find ONE where the woman was convicted of false accusation.

And the real problem I have with these "misogyny hate crimes" BS is that we have feminist ideologues which are trying to set a precedent. They are trying to make it ILLEGAL to even simply approach a girl or send a girl a text. Consider that...

It depends on how serious the claim is and how much has been lied about.

The US is corrupt as fvck and the government of it grows dumber and sicker. I would feel threatened by the legal system over there as well, in Norway it's still allowed to use common sense.

In Japan it's not completely uncommon for a girl to claim that a guy groped her on the train, and only drop the charges if he pays her off. But the legal system in Japan is a joke, and just getting arrested is enough for most people to lose everything. So even if a girl accuses a guy and the cops bring him in, he's fvcked.

On the other hand, it's less uncommon for rapes to go unreported here, and Japan is one of the few countries where possessing child porn is not illegal.

The problem with these things is like the campus "stare-raping" issue is that it means that he has to prove his innocence, rather than she has to prove his guilt and it is dependent on her interpretation. The legal system already shows a strong bias against men and a willingness to accept all women as victims.
It also gives too much power. You could be convicted of hate crimes against women just from one innaproppriate text, or misinterpreted comment. All you need to do is make her feel uncomfortable.
It is also unsurprising that there are no moves to make misandry a hate crime.
