Background:
I am a senior in high school and have yet to actually go out on any dates with anyone. I plan on asking out a girl who I have known for 13 months and has recently been single (Out of a very long, multi-year relationship) for about a month. Recently we have been talking more, and I have realized if I don't act soon, I will be friend-zoned.
A couple of questions:
When asking her one a date, how should I call it a date without sounding needy? I'm concerned that if I just ask her to get coffee, she will think of it as a friend thing.
My second question is if one month after her breakup is enough time or if I should disappear for a few months and reappear later.
Thirdly, is coffee good or bad for a first date? If not what is a better alternative? I live in a place that makes outdoor activities not possible during the day.
Finally, in high school, should the first date be during the day or night?
Oh, also, I am perfectly fine with the friendship dying.
