What is your overall experience with people you’ve been with when it comes to “safe sex” practices?
How quickly do women sleep with you?
Do they ask when you were last tested for various STDs?
Do they ask if you’ve ever been diagnosed with any?
Do they insist you wear a condom or refuse oral sex?
What about your own practices and risk?

Recently, a friend of mine caught Herpes while always using a condom. Apparently his girlfriend didn’t even know she had it.
Then I was talking to an old fling from a couple years back and she told me a bisexual guy she had previously slept with has AIDS. I always used a condom with her and she said she had recently been tested. But come to find out after I interrogated her more this weekend, the test wasn’t for HIV. It was specially for Herpes because she had an ingrown hair she was concerned about. And she hasn’t been tested since then!
I told her she needs to get tested ASAP because you can have HIV with no symptoms for up to ten years before you succumb to AIDS.
Her response — if I have it then I have it. I’m in no hurry to get tested because I can’t afford it and it would be too late anyway.
This is just insane.
So I started thinking about all the women I’ve slept with and how every single one of them never insisted I wear a condom and almost none of them asked if I had been tested until after we slept together more than a few times. And most of them were just middle or upper middle class women who mostly responsible in other aspects of life. And they were all concerned about pregnancy but not STDs.

I’m starting to think I’m going to insist on an STD test before sleeping with anyone from now on. It’s just insane how people take such risks.

I get regular testing, going for a fresh blood and piss test now I’m single. Caught chlamydia in the summer off a girl I caught the clam off in the previous winter. I’ve only ever had an STD and both times with the same girl.

I think I’ve had more sex without condom than with by far, girls may insist but in the heat of the moment. Touch wood I have no kids running about. Going to be much more cautious moving forward now.

Both tests and condoms are mostly pointless when it comes to HSV and HPV. Everyone who is sexually active will have the antibodies they test for. Showing symptoms is more about the strength of your immune system. These are the dirty secrets that the government refuses to admit, because they will never say anything bad about condoms, fearing it will make people use them less.

Condoms are great at preventing diseases spread by fluid exchange, which is everything except herpes and hpv. Hepatitis should be a much more serious concern than HIV. It is actually quite difficult for a man to get HIV from a woman, another little secret they won't admit.

High risk groups include gay men, bisexual men, working girls, and IV drug users. If someone does hard drugs at all, there is a good chance they have shot up at some point. I would also add stupid people as a high risk group. Sometimes they are too dumb to realize they have a disease, and spread it around out of ignorance.

I used to volunteer at a health clinic and they also said Hep B was a bigger risk than HIV and condoms don't percent against active herpes.

Why anyone would forego a condom in casual sex is beyond me. You're basically sleeping with everyone else that person slept with, as far as I'm concerned. A girl who is ok with unprotected sex is probably not someone you should be sleeping with without protection, same with guys who are ok with that.

I don't do one night stands often. I am somewhat of a germaphobe and a few years back on vacation I had sex with a beautiful blonde doctor. I was drunk and wore a condom but it broke and I didn't have another. She insisted we keep going and I did. The next day I was thinking omg if she was fine with men going raw... after knowing me for 1 hour how many other guys. I reminded her in the morning the condom broke and she really didn't care. Her response was I could tell you were clean !!?? Wtf. I got tested for everything.

I can't name the last girl that insisted I wear a condom. I usually sleep with girls I have some background on but none have ever said your wearing a condom. I have had girls look disappointed when I put one on. I don't know if I look clean or what!!??

Yup same here, with a few exceptions. I was pretty stupid and reckless in my early to mid 30's, i lucked out and only got chlamydia. I was with 1 woman and took off the condom and she wasn't happy about it, I knew I was clean at the time and obviously told her right away. Even told her if she wanted to see my physical results she could see them. She relaxed, said the same and told me her tubes were tied.

It's automatic now for me during the routine annual physical, regardless what my doc says about zero symptoms. DOC just fücking do the blood test AND you have to tell then full panel/spectrum.

As far as woman are concerned my only guess is we give off a trust worthy vibe/possible LTR material. Now what guy is going to give a girl an STD starting off a "possible" RL? This is my best guess at their thought process.

This is pretty obvious but STAY clear away from broads that are okay with the fun pull out method, that's baby rabbies in full affect! I think they get off on the risk and drama too.

I don't typically believe them but I've heard quite a few times from woman that it's "been" a while(like over a yr) and that I have nothing to worry about.

Now I know on "dates" we are suppose to keep topics light and fun but I think I'm going to throw out the "went to the doctor" and received the healthy a okay. Just to see their reaction. I don't think I'd do this on a 1st date, maybe 2nd. Just depends on the vibe on the woman as well.

This may sound stupid but I don't think I need to see the physical report but if she hasn't been in a while or at least before meeting me, huge red flag. As well as NOT being on B/C.

I've only had 1 girl out of 54 ever request a condom! My friends report the same findings. Every single one of the hookers I banged required a condom.

You'd be surprised that it happens everywhere, I will preface this with I'm not American and in a relatively high risk country and always have to be strapped but from talking to people and my own experiences. Women never ask and always prefer raw even in ONS, seems people like playing Russian roulette with these STD's.

Semen contains chemicals that regulate a woman's hormones in a beneficial way. It actually would be quite healthy, if not for the concept of STDs. Maybe that is behind the biological urge to not use a condom.

Interesting.. what you said about the immune system and those stds always resonated with me but I always thought you meant that you wouldn't contract it at all. If you have antibodies for it you technically have these STDs correct? I think you mentioned you were married to or with a woman for HSV for many years but didn't contract it.. But you think if you took a test for it you'd show up positive?

I don't think there's a test for HPV for men, right? I know for women their immune system can kill it off on their own, is this the same for men?

You have antibodies, yes, but there are always multiple strains of any virus, so I don't think the antibodies make one invincible to everything. They don't bother with an HPV test for men, because if we have had sex then we all test positive, anyway, and there's nothing they can do about it. And it's the same with HSV. They will tell you that you have it, even though you have never had an outbreak or transmitted it to anyone. I get the suspicion that the pharmaceutical companies pushing a daily pill on you - to control a disease with no symptoms - have something to do with that scenario.

So almost all of us will live out our lives with these viruses inside us. One very interesting thing I have read about post-mortem brain exams of alzheimer's and dementia patients is that their brains are full of HSV and HPV viral matter. It seems that when parts of the brain atrophy, these viruses move in and colonize those sections of the dying brain. I don't know how groundbreaking these findings are, but they ate interesting nonetheless.

either they're reckless and dumb or they're smart enough to realize that STDs aren't common in normal people (as in, you don't look dirty or come off as someone who has banged 1000 girls or anything like that)

What is your overall experience with people you’ve been with when it comes to “safe sex” practices?

Totally depends but generally I tend to decide to wear johny if I think the girl is rank. If she's fairly good background I will go without hat, I sort of sense if she might be a risk, dumb strategy.

I upset a slvt on a one night stand, she was mental. She gave me blowJ and I said something a bit rough, she then rubbed her vag over me, it seemed weird. 3 months later I had warts, bytch. Had them twice but nothing in 10 years but I check for them regular. You only transmit when they are there, not when dormant.

How quickly do women sleep with you?

Never had to wait more than about 5 dates, usually date 2-3 as a proper (25+) adult. First night is just a no no on principle for a lot of gals.

Do they ask when you were last tested for various STDs?

Yes, this often comes up

Do they ask if you’ve ever been diagnosed with any?

No. never had that.

Do they insist you wear a condom or refuse oral sex?

yes, some have said to wear jonny. I wouldn't continue if she refused oral because that's a girl, not a woman and I can't screw like that.

What about your own practices and risk?

I have usually had tests and worn hats.

I've been genuinely horrified in general by the lack of safe sex practice people all around me show on a regular basis. And I haven't even done it yet, lol.

My friend nearly got his LTR GF pregnant because he couldn't be bothered to wear condoms even though they'd argued about contraception. This is a guy who is studying to become a doctor, and he apparently hadn't figured out that babies will get made if he is regularly putting sperm into his fertile GF...SMFH...

My one serious GF had herpes. She came out of a bad relationship and decided to "have fun", she slept with 2 guys she "sort of knew" over the course of a month without any protection (WTF). Got herpes, pretty much the death knell for our relationship. It was s***ty for all concerned and she hadn't even thought about it.

My mates didn't even know herpes is permanent, and hardly any of my friends knew that you can get it regardless of condom usage...though condoms DO protect women more. The messed up thing is that you can get it when there are zero symptoms, a big reason I split with that chick even though she was super cool.

I actually calculated from the stats at the time. If you get a bl*wjob from a random girl at a party or something and don't use a condom, there's roughly a 5% chance you're walking away with herpes for the rest of your days. That's 1-in-20, really not that uncommon. Much higher than that if you have unprotected sex with her, and high even if you're johnnied up.

And that's JUST HERPES, not even all the other diseases you can get. Really f***ed up tbh.

--

TL;DR: Herpes is surprisingly common, annoyingly resistant to protection and 90% of people seem extremely ignorant and just generally f***ing stupid when it comes to safe sex.

It actually completely puts me off, knowing that I'm potentially sticking my d*ck into a hive of disease.

At the very least, my experience with my ex made me feel that casual sex is Russian Roulette, much better to have awesome quality sex in a relationship than get herps or something even worse off 5 mins of fun with some random chick you know nothing about.

I am a disease freak... just had a nuru massage... where she BJ me and the usual naked to naked massage (no sex)... still freaking about it lol.

Every ONS, casual sex... got my head spinning.

I've only had unprotected sex with my GF but she was on a contraceptive.... she used to say my sperm burned her vagina lol.

Personnally, never saw a difference with condoms or not...

Also, I can't put my head around people who would go unprotected... its taking a big risk... even if I am on the side that STD are more rare than we think.

It seems sometimes hookers / escort are safer choice than normal girl.

Here's a quote from Fmyife.com , in the top story:

''Today, I had drunk sex with a girl that I barely know. I didn't have a condom and was nervous about getting her pregnant, but she assured me that I could pull out. Right when I was about to pull out, she wrapped her legs around me and yelled, "BE MY BABY'S DADDY!" I couldn't get out in time. FML'' - 2009

and that is why I say wrap your junk, you shouldn't trust a woman with your health, and if she don't ask for you use condoms then she don't ask with others, so you really think you are so special she don't think you will need one? even if that is the case getting her lazy ass prego would be worse.

serious i'm more afraid of getting a woman pregnanty then getting a std

Probably sounds like I have huge trust issues (probably do, lol), but to me how can you trust a ONS not to just steal your sperm? Even my ex-gf once joked to me about "I guess I'll have to steal your sperm" and it made me insanely uncomfortable, even as a joke.

All you need is some crazy woman you barely know at a club to bounce on you or even give you a BJ and spit afterwards and once you fall asleep/leave her place, she can be trying to make babies with it.

It happened to a guy in Texas. Got a BJ from a ONS, he left, she managed to still get pregnant using the sperm. He had to pay child support legally.

The odds of that happening are minuscule, but if it does happen your life is up s*** creek...

I'm more worried about STDs because I'm allergic to penicillin which complicates curing or treating certain diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis, etc)
