Firs to all, by forcing yourself to tell yourself that she isn't attractive, all you are doing is subconciously telling yourself that you do find her attractive, you aren't fooling yourself, even if you think you are.
Secondly, don't make the task more daunting or more important then the goal.
Remember, you came here because you want to get attractive women to like you.
Well, it's not only no fun, you've defeated the purpose if you have to convince yourself she isn't attractive to do it.

The key isn't fooling yourself intot hinking she isn't hot, because that's what makes her hot.. the fact that she is hot (if that makes any sense)
But
To have the confidence necessary to look at her, in thoose ass huggers and thoose high heels and the nice smelling perfume, and to say that yes, she is attractive and not be flustered by the way she looks, and understand that like you, she is human and has needs,a nd like all women/people, all she wants is to be treated like a regular ass person.
The more of the game you learn, the more you learn that all you are doing is simplyfing things back to wear you act off of instinct rather than intelligence. Most guys here I presume are pretty smart. They think their way out of problems.. Thing is, you can't think yourway into a woman's ass.
It's a weird concept but it takes some time to grasp, but it all comes in due time
If you still gawk at a beatuiful woman, you have issues that need to be address. I might check her out, but i don't gawk, neither does any man here worth his salt.

But even then, I played the game. I was patient. I didn't rush but at the same time I showed her I was in fact interested.. which was a far cry from what other guy in the room was doing

I guess I have been around the block a few times.. well, there is no guess to it, I have.. I know enough about women to know they are like fortune cookies.. look great on the outside, however once you crack them open you never know what's inside.
A woman who looks hot as hell on the outside, can easily be a physco who hates men and has the claps... but you are supposed to be Memoriszed becaus she has long legs and big tits? They are just physical traits... and eventually they will start to wear off.
hell my old oneitis is just 22, 3 months younger than me and the last time I saw her she looks every bit of 30.. not in the good way.. I barely could reconize her.
Point is... not to say you have to grow up, but you have to understand what it is you are looking for out of women.. their personalities, what they like, what they dislike.. because there are toooo many good looking women out there for you not to know, and everytime a cute woman shows interest you can't be starstruck.
