Freaking out! Campus police experience last night

man.. last night was probably the worst night of my life. full of some mistakes that I may end up paying dearly for in the future...

i was hanging out with my girlfriend and we were drinking and having a good time. she left to go home and I called up my buddy and he showed up at the dorm I live in. he picked me up outside and we decided to smoke some weed.

my friends smoke all the time and I have smoked a lot in the past too. I've been trying to quit lately, but it's hard when all your friends do it and weed hasn't had any really negative drawbacks until now. perviously it was just something to do.. just like going to a party and drinking. I mean it's not like I ever considered doing acid or any heavy drugs. So I've been trying to quit for school and because things with my girlfriend are getting really serious. we've considered getting engaged.

so back to the story.. these campus police pull up right behind us while we're in a parking lot across from the dorms. we roll down the windows and smoke comes out and you can smell the mariajana. they place handcuffs on us and put us in seperate cop cars. they ask us what we've been doing and end up charging us with drug posssion and paraphinlia. so finally they take the cuffs off and tell us that they're going to let us go.

the officer who first arrived on scene is the one in charge. he gives us our citations and a court date. he also gives me his business card. he tells me that I should call him in a day or two. he was telling me that he could make these charges a whole lot less severe (i.e. maybe workshops/classes, community service, and/or a penality time that we cannot get in trouble). the catch is that he told me that he wants me to call him and give him a name of a dealer or someone that he can arrest or bust.

so man.. I'm freaking out. I know maybe one guy that I could tell him about, but that's it. I just have a name really.. not sure what he'll be able to do with that.

I'm so scared because first of all: my family doesn't know that I have smoked. so far they won't need to be involved, but if I get in trouble here at school (kicked out, suspended, lose my scholarship) then I'll be in so much trouble. On top of that my girlfriend who I am getting engaged to soon doesn't know that I have smoked recently and I don't want to tell her. I'm not sure how that would go and if she'd understand.

so i guess things have the potential to work out ok... if this guy lets me off and cuts me some slack. but i don't think i'll be able to provide him with the arrest he wants for someone else. i only have two citations and a court date.. and they never suspected my drinking or anything. so what now? so what do you guys think?

I think you should tell your girlfriend before she finds out from rumors.

I don't think she'd find out for anybody. The only person who knows is my friend who was also caught and charged and a mutual friend who wouldn't tell people.

So I don't know if I'm going to tell her about it or not. I'm scared to risk losing everything over a REALLY stupid mistake.

Dont rat out the dealer you fa-g.

Theres nothing worse than being a rat.

Besides that, if the dealer finds out your the one who ratted, he will punish you..worse than the pigs can.

Take your punishment, spit some bull**** to your parents about your friends doing it and not you (if you must lie, which is ***** too), and next time be smarter about it.

Hell no I'm not going to rat... I may have been caught with something stupid.. but I'm not going to take other people down for my stupid sh*t.

So I called the officer to see what's up... I have a court date, probably going to get some probation time that I can't get in trouble. That's totally fine.. I mean 6 months of not getting in trouble should be cake.

About school.. well the dean's office is supposed to contact me. Sounds like I'll probably get a class that I have to attend and some probation time here on campus. Other than that.. things are fine.

Anyone know what a class like that might cost?

Rule numero uno: Dont smoke in the F%cking open dude.. Serves you right for not thinking. Smoking in a car is generally a bad idea.

Also smoking in a wide open parking lot at a college campus is ever more risky. Dont rat on the dealer your screwing everyone else from enjoying it... Take the Heat and dont be a punk next time.

I guess common sense doesnt exsists....Geez Find a Private place to smoke dumbass... like your house or a friends house something! Use your head

everyone knows you dont smoke in a parked car on a parking lot of all places. if you just gotta smoke get on the freeway, first lane, set cruise control to 3 below speed limit and puff away.

AHAHAHAH dude my story will OWN yours.

Ok this was back in the days when i was a wigger, my friend TMoney called me up and said "Yo meet me at $#Y$Y$#" so i was like ok. He takes me to his house and we go into the basement. He pulls out his BB guns and tells me that there's gonna a be a huge BB war so i was like NICE. We get ready and head to the BB store where everyone else is. We get there and there's like 20 guys from 3 different schools. We load our guns and leave all the stuff near a BB shop cuz we know the owner. We march to the nearest park and we start shooting ppl. 10 min into the game I see lights and sirens and next thing i know I hear yelling and BAM we're surrounded not by 3 police men but freaking 40 of em. They had their flashlights and beating sticks out, so it was serious business. They told us to drop our guns and come to the police station. They confiscated all the guns and escorted us all to the nearest police station...

Once we get there it's like Law and Order they started quetioning telling us that local people called in to tell that there were terroists with guns marching around. I was like SH*T son I'm F**ked i gotta get out of here. So I try to run but they tackle me down, they ask for my name, phone number and add so I lie and tell them I'm just a tourist and I don't know my number or add yet. They grab one of the kids and start yelling. They start to take down info so I make up a fake phone, add and name. they said they were calling our school and parents. One of the guys starts to cry, they get distracted SO I YELL RUN B*TCH RUN we all run few kids get caught but me and my friend make it out. We run our a** off for 10 min and go back to the BB shop. The police come to quetion the BB shop keeper if he saw any kids, he tells them that he didn't and they leave.

Next day I was so p*ssed that they made such a big deal about a stupid BB war that I got fireworks and went crazy in the park. I shot rockets toward old ladies, ducks and threw smoke bombs in the lake. Eventually someone called the cops and the same guys came. So this time I mooned them and ran, we ran for 20 min and they chased us. Luckly they were all fat and out of shape so they gave up and walked back...

So you see next time when your drunk and high you run! that way you won't get into trouble if you get caught just pretend that you dont speak english.

i know that where i attended college in oklahoma, the senior class president was busted for possession.

it would have been a misdemeanor but there's some stupid law about having drugs within 500ft of a state college, makes it a felony.

I've got a story.

One time I was on lunch break and so I got a friend to drive us somewhere to park and toke up. We find an apartment hidden on a big ass hill across the street. We get there and it looks secluded and sh*t. Wrong! We were finishing our last bowl when from my peripheral vision I see a white car with something on the top. "Look mikey, you need to stop smoking and don't turn around because there's a cop car pulling up" my friend was as confused and shocked, but I told him that if he took the pipe and chunked it as hard as he could, it would end up somewhere far down the hill. Well, dude cranks his window just enough to give some good wrist action and toss that thing; and it lands just before the hill got too steep. I told his ass just to stay calm. I took out a cigarette, chilled and tried to stay as calm as possible. Cop motions for my friend to step outside which then was followed by a major b*tch fest. This cop DID NOT like my friend. And it got even better!

4 more police units arrived on the scene. I was soo going to jail that day. Well, the whole time these cops are talking to me and asking me if I was stoned,I said yes; they asked me about any more pot, I didn't. After that they basically left me alone and all 8 guys started going Full Metal Jacket on my friend. And in the end, they gave me a number and told me to call them in a week and let me go. Unfortunately my friend got arrested. I learned my lesson when it comes to smoking weed in the car.

id keep the news of you narcing really quiet, which definately means not posting on an internet forum. i tell you that for your own safety since a lot of people don't like narcs

God damnit what kinda of a ****ing Nazi school are you guys going to!!??? **** man, last semester some mates and I were blazing it up everynight in out dorm. Campus security walked in a couple times when we were all stoned beyond belief. They asked us if everything was okay, we just sat there with a big ass joint in our hands and huge ass smiles on our faces. One of them asked us if it was some good sh!t. Then they told us to take care and to be careful with the fire alarm, before they left.

Cancuson ran into campus POLICE, not campus security. One of my buddies from high school is a security guard, and he's a huge pothead (even got kicked from the Marines for it lmao).

You won't get cut slack, you're going to have 2 citations on your permanent police record.

These two citations will be what employers will see, creditors will see, and the irs will see. I would've done things a lot different, I recommend you take a civics class to understand what personal rights you have and what you can do when you're in a police situation.

Possession and paraphenelia is a misdemeanor, so it's not like you're going to a federal pound me in the ass prison.

I would really look into a sh*tton of community service hours to try and keep it off your record. That's priority number one. Go to rehab, clean highways, be on parole, anything but having that on your record.

dude, it's just a ticket, probably $100 bucks depending on where you live. you're already busted and that's all they can do to you. don't make it worse.

Well guys... here's an update

I haven't narced and didn't/haven't planned on it. Just part of the experience with the police officer.

I called him the next day and we talked on the phone for a little while. He says, I'm going to give you the same deal I give everyone else; 6 months probation period that I can not get in trouble.

I'll go to court and have an arraignment hearing. During this I'll probably meet with a public defendant and plead not guilty. I'll tell them that I had worked out a deal with the arresting officer.

This will in turn require me to a second hearing which the arresting officer may or may not be present. Regardless I'll be getting 6 months probation period.

As far as school goes... well I called my deans office. I talked to the guy who coordinates punishments of my sort. He said that based on what I told him it sounded like I would probably get 6 months behavioral probation and possibly a drug and alcohol class. So it doesn't seem too bad. I should get getting a note in my mailbox from them sometime today or tomorrow hopefully.

So none of this is official yet, but it doesn't sound like it should be that big of a deal. I've talked to other students who had been caught doing the same thing and they had similar experiences. I have a clean record at school and with the city so I'm not too worried.

Oh yeah.. doesn't sound like I'll lose my scholarship either.

Been a crazy experience... definitely not smoking ever again.

Also, for people who were talking about not smoking in parking lots... well where I live the cops usually aren't too worried about scoping out parking lots. Basically everyone I know has done it or is still doing it.
