Hmm, I've got rather thick upper lips but I wasn't born with them, in fact no one in my family is. Could it be because I used to kiss my bolster while I sleep so it ends up pouting too much during my puberty, when the lip's shape takes place? These days I have to conciously stretch my mouth when I talk and "bite" my lips when I'm not talking or it gets rather ugly, any way to help?
