Atkins all the way. I'm losing 3 - 5 pounds a week and eating close to 3000 cal. a day.

I suggest using Dr. Phil's methods while doing the South Beach diet. It's easier and more healthy than Atkins and you get the same results.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Uhhh, Dr. Phil isn't exactly slim.

And Atkins isn't safe?

Please explain?

Phil was a college football linebacker, there's no way that he would be slim. Plus he's an avid tennis player that plays almost daily. I know because my cousin works at the consulting firm he worked.

But anyway, re-read my post. I didn't say that Atkins wasn't safe. I said that South Beach was healthier. Atkins dramatically shifts the balance of protein/fat/carb intake. South Beach adjusts the intake without setting any in-balance.

This means that there is less chance of carbohydrate binge eating since they aren't drastically restricted from your diet (beyond the initial two weeks). People using South Beach report a constant weight loss beyond the 2-4 week plateau that Atkins users tend to hit. In addition the maintenance period is easier to maintain without the cravings.

I've tried Atkins with a lot of success but since I am active, I can not forgo a certain amount of carbs that I need to burn each day. With South Beach I have the energy that I need from the carbs but I can still loose weight and maintain a proper weight. Also, I can still eat at restaurants without ordering Atkins specific meals. Oh and I spend much less money on food with South Beach and I am seldom hungry.
