How much sleep do you actually need if you are over the age of 21 and you have stopped growing? I used to think that the more the better, but am I just wasting my time? I sleep 6 hours one night because I have to get up for work and I am fine. Some days when I don't work I sleep 10 hours and I feel tired....
So what amount of sleep gives you the most effective sleep yet doesnt waste your time?

8 hours is best.
You can get by with 7, max should be 9. Sleeping more to "make up" is not going to work.. people will tell you they sleep 12 hours but yet their energy level is still kinda low.

Actually to be honest, I'd say seven at most.
People who sleep 6-7 live longer than those who sleep 9-10-11-12 hours a day and people who rarely sleep or sleep very little.
