There is the american girl that I've mentioned a few times already, that I've been seeing whenever she comes up to canada, or when I go to visit her.

Well, we had made an arrangement where, because we were separated most of the time, that we would be allowed to sleep with other people, so long as we aren't being reckless about it. The arrangement has been working perfectly well untill :

Last night, she gives me a call, half crying about how she slept with another dude, and how all she could think about during that time was me, and that she misses me, and feels like she cheated on me, etc. etc.

I figure, because we already had the arrangement, that I should just take it for what it is, that pshe had sex with someone else...

I basically told her that I wasn't happy that she had slept with someone else, but I wasn't angry or anything because we already agreed that it was ok.

What would you guys have done differently?

Nothing. You did just fine. You said it was ok that she slept with other people, so she did. There is no reason to handle it any other way. If she can't deal with sleeping with other people, then she doesn't have to. She was throwing the guilt at you to get it off of her chest. You handled it well.

Funny... I'm not even pissed at her, I actually only feel wierd about it becuase SHE feels like she cheated on me, yet I don't feel cheated ON at all.

Thanks... I figured that I did about all that I should have done. I knew that I would be a hippocrite for getting angry with her, when given the opportunity, I would have shagged any girl (that I would normally sleep with) without a second thought, or guilt of any kind.

It's just an odd situation, because she felt really guilty, and was all telling me that she feels like she's giving herself 100% to me, yet I'm not giving that much in return and all this... to which I told her that I can only give her 100% of myself when we are together.

Yo, thats bull**** dude. You guys agreed that it was an open relationship.. If you dont think a long distance thing will work, then next her, but whats amazing is how honest this girl is with you, so you may rethink where this is going.

She probably feels guilty because she DOES intend on being with you, and she probably DOES like you a lot. Most likely she was lonely, kinda missing you, and was hurting because of it...and wanted to take her mind off of you because she felt that was the 'logical' thing to do. Maybe her friends convinced her that she should hook up with other guys to get her mind off of you. She FORCED herself to do what she did. And after she did it she felt guilty about it and is haunted with the idea that you'll never trust her and that you'll confuse this mistake for the way she really feels about you.
