Consider a coffee date.

Depends on how I'm feeling at the moment. If she really thinks she's hot shiet, I say to her, "So, what are you going to buy me?". They usually look at me, a little stunned, and say, "Uhm..well, what do you want?". Simple.

Other times I'll pay for it and say, "I'll get it this time, you can get it next time.".

Simple x 2.

Whatever you do, as long as you KNOW you're not trying to impress her, you'll be fine whether you pay or not. If you really KNOW you're not trying to impress her, she'll know it too.

For me it depends on the context. If I have invited her out for something specific, then I pay. That's just implied when you invite someone to something, I think.

If it's a basic "meet and greet" kind of thing (i.e. a pre-date), then we pay for our own stuff.

dont even make the bill an issue, pay it and act as if it was nothing, and she most likely wont even notice. If you dont see it as an issue, neither willl she.

I'm all for the tried and true method...the person who asks pays.

This entire issue has its core in AFCness

MOST AFC's have a certain type of personality where during the date, they do EVERYTHING wrong

They dont qualify the chick

They are too worried about making an impression

They are too scared to be c/f

They supplicate

They pay for bills and take girls shopping

Now, paying for the BILL isnt going to make you AFC in her eyes..but if you have all the above makings of AFCness, paying the bill only confirms her suspicions of you trying to impress her

Now if on a date, you have been c/f, teased her, qualifyed her, neg hit her, etc

Paying the bill will only make you look like a gentleman ( dont buy this entire crap that paying for a bill will make or break your game)

Its usually the AFC persona coupled with paying the bill that is your deathcall

The only reason I split 50/50, is because I want to avoid "professional daters"

women who go out for free meals and drinks, and to brag to their friends

Its hard to spot which girl is nice or using you

so I just Split 50/50 to be safe

I have had dates were the chick IMMEDIATELY paid for the entire bill, in that scenario, on a 2nd , 3rd date I would BUY her next meal

Well, I'm gonna take a girl to a Subway, where you have to pay immediatly for your own sandwich. (like at McDonald's)

I always split the bill 50/50 on the first date. My reasoning is if I don't like the guy or the date is going south, I can say "thanks but no thanks" and head out the door. If a guy is paying for your meal...you kinda feel obligated to actually sit there and eat it.

Paying for a first date has two things to it...first is an easy way to start wrong from the beginning ..second it can be a good test if on a first date because if the woman doesnt even fight you to go 50 - 50 ..**** NEXT THAT BYTCH!!!

The bill comes and I'll catch it... but the skill is in givin the girl you're with such a good time that she feels she has to contribute to the price, and for the past year or so this has always been the case... I step out to pay like it ain't a thing but she wants to pay

Works out as the best of both worlds... no little nervous wait to see if she's gonna dip into her purse, no workin out who owes what on the bill... you take control of the situation, show that you could quite easily catch the bill yourself, but then don't have the same financial burden as if you'd caught it yourself...

If you're talkin Starbucks or some kinda joint like that, then she's more than capable of buyin her **** straight up...
