Hey everyone. Long time fan of the site, I think I learnt all I know about women from reading your posts. Quite seriously. Unfortunately, for a while, I hadnt logged on. Probably half a year. And in that time I got mixed up in a little thing called internet dating. Wow. Talk about a vipers nest.
After much clicking and searching, I found a girl who lived on the other side of the country. This was totally against my better judgement. Long distance relationships dont really work. But her picture was amazing. She had these beautiful eyes that melted every part of my soul. She was perfect. I wrote to her and she replied almost instantly. Now I thought that being on the other side of the continent would put her maybe slightly off. But no. She jumped straight into it. We exchanged emails for about a week, in which she gave me a nickname and told me how funny I was. This shiz had me on the ropes. This is the one! Maybe totally unrelated, but I managed to get through quite a few years without getting a flu. The week I started writing to her, I became sick as a dog. Lost my voice for a while too. I wrote it off as being love sick. You guys know how it can get. Last week, I sent off a nice long email, that was really quite good. Trying to get a bit more info out of her, along with some light hearted teasing and stuff. All stuff I learnt of you guys. She never got back to me. Now this was over a weekend. So I spent all my time worrying about what she was doing. If she was ok. How I would protect her from anything. I know. Looking back I cant believe I got in so deep. Finally after no reply, I did something that I suppose happens to the best of us. I panicked and sent off one of those emails along the lines of I havent heard from you, I hope your ok. I really enjoyed talking to you. Seriously. But I did. Eventually she got back to me and said she met another guy. He was talking to her for ten days over the net and then flew to her state to be with her. I was a heart broken. But then I logged onto this site for the first time in ages and did a search for internet dating. That woke me up super fast. Some of the horror stories were pretty bad.
Anyways, long story short she sent me a picture of her and her boyfriend. What a great gal hey? I'm glad she did. Lets say she looked nothing like her internet dating picture. My stomach turned. In the bad way. If I saw her on the street I would have walked past her. Without a worry. Can you believe she had at least 12 other people on the recipients list for the photo! Man, I am so relieved I wasnt the chump that jumped on a plane to be with her, cos he can totally have her. I dodged that bullet! Just had to get it off my chest. I am so relieved. Moral of this long story, get your facts straight before you get too emotionally involved. It aint worth it. Thanks for reading everyone, I promise i'll log in a lot more often for my daily reality check! Take it easy!
