Somewhere there it is said something about getting women to buy you things. This really has got me confused. Add to that the 50pesos song "P.I.M.P.". He talks about not letting go a penny etc, you know.

I have a friend that is a male prostitute, he gives semi-old women sex and they buy him stuff. That has nothing to do with a PIMP, right?

A pimp, literally, is the guy who "owns" the prostitutes. They go out and get $$, and give alot of it to their pimp. He is their "boss". However, the term has other slang and metaphorical meanings, such as if you are macking alot of chicks, or banging alot of chicks, people might say "516, you are such a pimp!".

Read Pimp by Iceberg Slim. Damn good book that's about a pimp's struggles and problems in the 30s and 40s, yet the exact same sh!t applies today.

A pimp is the one who handles the ho's who get the money from tricks.

I do not like the useage of the word pimp bantered around like common ordinary language. I think I posted this also:

I have never heard of 45 to 65 percent. A real pimp keeps 100 percent. He pays for her room and board and clothes and upkeep.

Even in the above mentioned film. It was stated "I give 100 percent to her so I take 100 percent" if she was in jail would she want me to only give x amount of percentage?

The type of pimp your reffering to is called a cracker jack or popcorn pimp.
