Do you use IM regularly to chat with girls rather than call them? what are the ups and downs of using IM?

I prefer talking to them in person, its better to see emotion and use kino during this time. What do you all think>

i agree with doing stuff in person. However, i find that women are alot more open and flirty will on IM and things can get really intense really fast. MAny a time I have flirted back to girls on IM and the topic has reached highly sexual levels.
It can be fun

people are more cavalier online, which creates a problem when in reality, the person is more reserved. In real life you don't get a few minutes to deliberate everything your going to say, and the minutia of body and voice expression are not there...It can be helpful, but not used as a crutch

The corollary to my previous statement is to think of the responses you would get acting as cavalier offline as you are online...Why is there such a difference? Why are people so uninhibited online? Hell, most people on this site share things they would never tell their best friends in reality...Why? I'm not gonna preach like Pook because I have no answer to it. Though figuring it out would be pretty valuable...

I have abandoned IM altogether when it comes to DJing. As deeman says, yes, things can get intense very fast. It's not worth it though, because you don't ever seem to have that same connection person-to-person. You'll either set yourself up to be hurt or simply waste valuable time.

This is my opinion anyway... Besides, you need experience in face to face situations.

I am always on AIM, and women love talkin to me. They key is have a cool name, personalized info [profile] and some interesting away messages. When your talking say brb every 5 min or so and put up a funny away message. I've written this post well over 10 times on the HS forum, and I'm tired of it ;).
