Im curiuos, how many of you have gotten back with ex's that you wanted to get back with, the reasons for the breakup and what you did to get them back.

No self-respecting guy would try to get back with an ex. That's a pissed-in pool, and swimming in it isn't going to be any fun, I guarantee it.

I have one ex which I have from college which I wanted to get back with extremly badly becase of onitis which I finally got over... Soon enough when I stopped giving a **** about her and summer came she realized how much she missed me (6 months later) and has apologized for not trying and whatnot.. Needless to say I passed on her two attempts to get together over the summer. But hell I am thinking for a hate **** one evening at school but I am very very weary of people whom have screwed me over in the past especially some1 whom I felt a conection with like this and hurt me.

Does it really matter who pissed in the pool? If she pisses in the pool, you wouldn't swim in it... will you swim in the pool if YOU pissed in it? I doubt it. The pool has been pissed in. Now isn't the time to pass the blame or determine fault. The pool is pissy, it's been done, it can't be unpissed, so get out and find a new pool, post-haste.

I guarantee you'll find that the water's nicer there.

Don't get back with them. Move on. Be business-like about it because, at that point, it is business (as in--you see things very clearly and are not being jerked around by AFC wishfulness..)

Although I have done that post-breakup fvckbuddy thing for a time, but that, again, was just business, too.

I did, for the record, take one back. She was the exception that proves the rule, or one worth breaking the rules for.

Made her wait 12 years, though! :D

I dunno, is that hardcore?

I have never understood why people get back with exes either. If you someone is your ex, they are that for a reason. If anyone thinks that the problems will work themselves out during a break, then they are wrong. The problems won't work themselves out, they will just stay hidden for a long period of time again b/c person a doesn't want to hurt person b again. The bottom line is that while people may appear to change, they really don't.

I've said it once, but once an egg is broke it is broke, I mean sure back to have fun but 99% of the time the same old issues will crop up and end things or the person that was left the first time will turn around and end up doing the same thing to you. That's why when you do find someone you care about, to take care of things. ALthough, I do know some folks who got married, then divorced and are now married again. But I think that was just becuase they were older and lonely and settled..Yuck! Never do that.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
