I've been to a few, and I can tell you that there are some chicks that are very hot and genuinely nice. I highly recommend it for LTR material women. One huge tip, is to remember the names of the ones you like (take notes they don't mind), plus after the event is over, they tend to hang out at the bars and socialize more. Take this time to make yourself distinguished from the rest.
Even if you don't find anyone you like it can still be excellent practice. You put yourself in a situation where you have to introduce yourself to a bunch of strangers in a short amount of time. Its perfect practice for use later in random situations, with the added bonus of meeting potentials for relationship.

hahaha this is a brilliant concept..but for some reason I cannot stop laughing..or getting the image out of my head for meeting 10 people in 2 mins time span..it reminds me of duck duck goose or musical chairs
