The DOn Juan Art of War

There are 13 sections to the original text of the art of war, which is not only a brilliant strategically document, but also a great social stratagem that can be applied to business, university and thus to the life of the Don Juan. Here, I have translated the first few sections, into what I personally think they apply to in a DJ context. I may have got stuff wrong, its all a matter of interpretation. hopefully though, it might show how you can use stuff like this and apply it to modern life, but if one person gets an idea or inspiration from this, I will be happy.

I. Laying Plans for Conquest
1. Big Al says: The attraction of ladies is of importance to real MEN. (originally: State.)
2. while it isn't a matter of life and death, the path trodden can either lead to success or failure. Thus, the subject of seduction can on no account be neglected.
3. The art of seduction is determined by five factors, which should always be borne in mind when seeking to attract women and become a better man.
4. These are: (1) Masculinity; (2) Environment; (3) Reality; (4) Morality; (5) Methodology.
5,6. Masculinity causes people to respect you and see you in a position of power. Masculinity will allow you to ascend the social hierarchy and become and alpha male. Do this and people will follow you.
7. Environment signifies your own personal clothing, always smart, never stuffy or scruffy. It also signifies the area in which you are picking up women, be it a club or in a library. different tactics must be applied in order to succeed in each theatre.
8.Reality comprises distances (Both social and physical), her perception of you through Masculinity, morality and Environment. The application of Methodology and also the chances of success and failure.
9. Morality stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerely, benevolence, courage and strictness.
10. Methodology is the application of the techniques learnt here at sosuave, but also at layguide and any techniques that have been learnt elsewhere. It is also the exercise of discipline and the reliability of wingmen and also the frugality by which you socialise.
11. These five factors should be familiar to every Don Juan: whoever knows them will succeed with women and become a better man, he who does not will fail.
12. Also, when approaching women and placing yourself in competition with other males, you can determine your success by some degree by answering these questions:--
13. (1) If she is approached by another male, who of both of you is the most masculine? (2) Who has the better methodology? (3) Who has the advantages derived from Environment and Reality? (4) Who can exercise the most self control? (5) who appears physically and mentally superior (Not geeky)? (6) Who has the better grasp and experience of Methodology? (7) Who is more likely to take rejection badly?
14. By means of these seven considerations you can forecast success or failure
15. The Don Juan that hears and follows advice will succeed. The AFC that will not hear or act upon advice will suffer a thousand deaths.
16. While surfing the DJ website, bear in mind there are other sources of advice such as the lay guide, secrets of seduction, friends, etc.
17. According to the degree of favourability, techniques and plans should be modified.
18. A great deal of seduction is based on deception.
19. Hence, when attempting to pick up women, appear uncaring; when using the techniques, it must seem natural; when we love them, we must make them believe that we do not give a sh!t.
20. Entice the ladies to let down their b!tch shield. Feign disinterest, and crush their defences.
21. If she has a high b!tch shield, be prepared for it.
22. If she is of choleric temper, seek to irritate her.
23. DO not allow her to be lazy, give her no rest and no room for complacency.
24. Use the 3 second rule so that you will never allow them to build up a defence or negative mental image about you.
25. The system must NEVER become common knowledge.

II. Waging War
1. When picking up women, there are many factors beyond the obvious that need to be taken into account.
2. If the "Fight" to gain a particular woman becomes protracted and drawn out, eventually the DJ arsenal will fail. Do not become obsessed with one woman, move away to where there are other b!tches. Do not exhaust your strength on one woman.
3. If it becomes protracted, you will find yourself becoming frustrated.
4. Others will appear to take advantage of you and throw you down. You will loose confidence and your position as an ALPHA male.
5. Although there is such a thing as stupid haste, there is no such thing as clever long delays.
6. No man has ever benefited from delaying from approaching a girl, nor from wasting their efforts on one who shows no interest.
7. Understand women so that you can see the ideal ways to carry out the approach.
8. A Don Juan does not try with an uninterested girl more than once.
10. DO not waste money on approaching women, or you will be impoverished in other areas.
11. To a woman, the proximity of more males forces the value she places on herself to go up. therefore, it is important to move swiftly.
12. When their self value is high, they will be deluded with false ideals of themselves. 13,14. When you have exhausted yourself on one woman, or solely on the pursuit of women, you will not be able to function well in other areas, therefore do not waste all your time chasing women.
16. Now in order to kill the enemy, our men must be roused to anger; that there may be advantage from defeating the enemy, they must have their rewards.
17. You should take her hopes and dreams into consideration and not smash them, but nurture them and use them to your advantage. In the same way, use patterning, eliciting values and NLP to use her language to penetrate her defences.
18. By using her language in this way, you will add to your own strength.
19. In seduction, go for rapid strikes, not lengthy campaigns.

III. Attack by Stratagem
1. In the art of seduction, the best thing to do is to get the girl to open up to you, not in an "I'll vomit my emotions all over you kind of way", but in a way that shows she trusts you. this is a better foundation for a LTR than a relationship where she only half trusts you, or hides things from you.
2. Hence to seduce her through techniques is not to win, to win is to break down her defences and seduce her naturally.
3. Thus the highest form of seduction is to naturally charm the girl; the next best is to prevent a c0ck block, the next is a cold pick up; and the worst is to pursue a girl who is not interested.

4. DO not pursue girls who are not interested, as the resources this takes (Time, money) will be better spent elsewhere.
5. If you do and you fail, you will become irritated and sue your skills on her. you will fail and loose confidence and the result will be that you will be left disillusioned and she will still not be yours.
6. A DJ bypasses a HB's defences naturally, using the DJ techniques. In doing so, you will capture their heart.
7. Follow the rule "In her head before in her bed". When you rule her mind, your triumph will be complete.
8. In the field, adapt your skills to suit the situation. if she is with her mates, use group icebreakers and if she is on her own, use NLP to penetrate her defences.
10. Although the AFC can show something in his game, at the end of the day, the DJ will be the one that will triumph, due to his higher and well developed skills.
11. Confidence is the bulkward of the DJ, it must be secure at all times. if your confidence should break at any point, your game will break.
12. There are three ways you can fail:--
13. (1) Being ignorant of your own limits and either restricting yourself too much or attempting too much. This is called hobbling the "army".
14. (2) By treating women any differently to how you should treat them. this gives them a high opinion of themselves and will not aid you in any way.
15. (3) By allowing your own confidence to be shaken by not adapting your strategies and techniques to the situation, e.g., using club pickup techniques at a bus stop (Ok, maybe not that badly, but you get the idea)
16. When you do jot have confidence in your own techniques, you will become distrustful and will allow "Anarchy" into your mind.
17. There are 4 essentials to the DJ: (1) Know WHEN to approach and WHEN not to. (2) Know how to handle competition, both inferior and superior, from other males and her friends. (3) Indominatable spirit. (4) Prepare well for seduction, and approach swiftly.
18. Hence the saying: If you know yourself and women, you will win very time. If you know yourself but not women, you will be defeater very time you suceed. If you know neither, you will loose every time.

IV. Tactical Dispositions
1. The DJ ignores the idea of failure and finds opportunities to approach women.,
2. To ignore failure is something only you can do, but the opportunity of approach is something that must be contributed to be women.
3. Thus a DJ approaches only when he is ignores failure and is certain of success.
4. Hence the saying: One may know how to conquer without being able to do it. (This is an original line, I think it speaks for itself)
5. fear of failure means being on the defensive and waiting for her to approach. The ability to succeed means taking action and forgetting failure.
6. waiting for her shows a lack of strength. approaching shows immense confidence.
7. he who is inactive hides within himself, he who attacks approaches as if from "the topmost heights of heaven." Therefore, a choice between self preservation and victory must be made.
8. To strive for easy victories is not the height of excellence.

V. Energy
1. To approach a group of women is essentially the same as approaching one, just devide and conquer.
2. When she shows high interest, or whether it is low, all that you must focus on is your approach.
3. To ensure that you remain un-phased by rejection and uncertainty, attack with confidence.
4. To maximise you game, you must be aware of strong points and weak points.
5. A general approach can be used for the initial assault, but techniques may be needed in order to secure victory.
6. Indirect techniques, I.e. NLP, Kino can be applied without limit and can enhance an approach, although they must not be what the approach hangs on.
7. An effective combination of techniques may guarantee brilliant results, so experiment.
10. In approaching, you can be direct or indirect, but a combination of these will produce multiple strategies.
11. Each will lead onto the other, it will flow naturally with time, and then there will be endless combinations.

12. The onset of troops is like the rush of a torrent which will even roll stones along in its course.
13. The quality of decision is like the well-timed swoop of a falcon which enables it to strike and destroy its victim.
14. Therefore the good fighter will be terrible in his onset, and prompt in his decision.
15. The combination will build up energy as it progresses.
16. You may loose yourself in your technique, and loose direction, but stick to it and you will not fail.
18. Mask weakness with strength, timidity with courage and order above disorder.
19. Depending on how you portray yourself, this is how people will react to you. one who can mask their true feelings for a cool and calm exterior will keep the enemy on the move, trying to find a way into your defences.
21. The DJ combines techniques effectively and looks to use the correct ones to achieve his aims.
22. When you properly use techniques you will become an unstoppable force.

23. Thus the energy developed by good fighting men is as the momentum of a round stone rolled down a mountain thousands of feet in height. So much on the subject of energy.

VI. Weak Points and Strong
1. Fight the battle when you dictate, do not fight the battle on someone else's terms. move and act when you are ready, but be there first, as if you are second, you move be compared to the first.

2. Therefore the clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him.
3. By enhancing things that make you unique, you cause people to warm to you and approach you.
4.Keep her on the trot, don't allow her to become complacent or too comfortable in the relationship, or else she will start to get acidic towards you..
5. Be spontaneous, take her off her guard, she will love it.
6. you have a lot of free reign, just done invade her comfort zones too rapidly or too much.
7. You can be sure of succeeding when you do the unexpected (Obviously stripping, covering yourself in dung and doing the cancan isn't going to work)
8. Hence, the DJ knows where and how to be spontaneous, and yet, knows how to stop her invading his privacy and his personal space and keeps her on her toes so she doesn't get complacent.

9. O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible; and hence we can hold the enemy's fate in our hands.
10. If you attack her weak spots, be sure that you have a backup plan to explain your actions if she gets narky.
11. You have a great deal of control over where she features in the relationship.
12. If you find she is being awkward, or going in a direction you don't want to go, throw something unexpected or awkward in her path to derail her.
The rest of this section would have been too manipulative to apply to DJism. basically, its about attacking at weak points and so forth, In my opinion, you dont need to be manipulative to be a DJ. Just be a man!!

Im not going to translate the rest, i leave that up to other memebrs of the board. Before you flame or moan about things that aren't right, remember that its all a matter of personal taste, if theres something there you dont like, then change it for something that suits you.

A few weeks ago, I began putting my own interpretations on some selected quotes from the book. I only got about a fifth through but I'll post what I have now anyway:

(Sun Tzu's comments in quotes)

“One who cannot be victorious assumes a defensive posture; one who can be victorious attacks.”

-A man who knows he will have success with women will always approach. A man who has condemned himself to failure will sit back and watch.

“Those who excel at defense bury themselves away below the lowest depths of Earth. Those who excel at offense move from above the greatest heights of Heaven. Thus they are able to preserve themselves and attain complete victory.”

- A man that is afraid to approach is digging himself a deeper hole from which self-improvement is increasingly difficult to attain. A confident man will benefit from each approach and gain complete success.

“The victorious army first realizes the conditions for victory, and then seeks to engage in battle. The vanquished army fights first, and then seeks victory.”

- A victorious man always understands the correct technique and approach to impress women before initiating contact. One who plunges into an approach without adequate preparation or an achievable target will be met with rejection.

“Warfare is the Tao of deception. Thus although you are capable, display incapability to them. When committed to employing your forces, feign inactivity. When your objective is nearby, make it appear as if distant; when far away, create the illusion of being nearby.”

- A true Don Juan keeps a woman guessing by appearing a mystery. An intelligent man knows a woman will be attracted to indifference displayed toward her – a perceived incapability of finding attractiveness. Even though you are committed to gaining a HB, proceed half-heartedly to avoid perception of desperation.

“Analyzing the enemy, taking control of victory, estimating ravines and defiles, the distant and near, is the Tao of the superior general. One who knows these and employs them in combat will certainly be victorious. One who does not know these or employ them in combat will certainly be defeated.”

- Success will come to a man who understands the inner workings and body language of a woman and can act accordingly. A real man will lead from the front, and be able to estimate any future obstacles.

“Thus one who truly knows the army will never be deluded when he moves, never be impoverished when initiating an action. Thus it is said if you know them and yourself, your victory will not be imperiled. If you know Heaven and you know Earth, your victory can be complete.”

- A successful man understands his own strengths and limitations, and the weaknesses of a woman. Completion of victory becomes simplified if actions are taken based on this knowledge.

“Attack where they are unprepared, go forth where they will not expect it.”

- A Don Juan is unpredictable and spontaneous. A man who can think outside the square is appealing. If a woman is unprepared she will be lacking a protective shield and victory will be easier.

“When our weapons have grown dull and spirits depressed, when our strength has been expended and resources consumed, then the feudal lords will take advantage of our exhaustion to arise. Even though you have wise generals, they will not be able to achieve a good result.”

- If a man puts all of his effort into a cause to the point of exhaustion, even though his mind may remain active, success will not come. A successful man retains high energy levels, confidence and conditioning at all times.

“Those in proximity to the army will sell their goods expensively. When goods are expensive, the hundred surnames’ wealth will be exhausted. When their wealth is exhausted, they will be extremely hard-pressed to supply their village’s military impositions.”

- If a man gets close to a woman she will not relent cheaply. If he expends all his wealth into her he will not be able to support himself. A Don Juan never ‘buys’ a woman.

Interesting post. For those who haven't opened their eyes yet, dating is not necessarily romance these days ... it's a bloody game!!! As with any game, there are good moves you can make and bad moves you can make. Afterall, we're all partly here on this forum to learn better strategies and tactics to help us get a chick, right?

A DJ should know himself. You must have the appropriate tools and knowledge at your disposal. Given the situation, you are dressed appropriately to attract your given targets. A person that knows himself will have a true foundation of confidence that cannot be rocked.

Next, a DJ must understand his enemy - how well do you understand women? If you do not understand how your woman thinks, how do you expect to conquer her? Read up on the many good posts about women here on this site ... namely the many posts on women written by Pook.
