Well, Ive just moved back to my old school and this girl that I REALLY like comes up to me and says hello to me in the hallway.

I say hello back.

She then says "Whats up?"

I pause for 3 seconds, and very stupidly say "what?"

She then says "Whats up?"

I said I was doing fine. We had a short 30 second convo or so then we left.

Have I screwed up as bad as I think I have?

Also she is always sending out SURE SIGNS that she likes me. Like going out of her way to talk to me. Smiling. etc. But whenever I try to make a move, she seems to back away. But she constantly sends me these signs and we are not really friends

So...b/c you paused and said "what" when she asked you "what's up?", that means you 'really screwed up' with her?

Please, that's a little rediculous.

Also, don't worry about her "signs". They don't matter; you can't tell much from them. Just be a man, grab your balls and get a date with her. Nothin' to it. Especially if she is always initiating conversations with you.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

You haven't f*cked it up. Could you have played it better? Sure. We all always can. But she digs you, so get it right next she approaches.

What I recommend is instead of waiting around for her to approach you next time you see her, go up to her, wrap your arm around her, show some enthusiam, and show her that you're interested. You've got it made--she already likes you. It's like getting paid for a week's worth of work and all you have to do is go pick up your paycheck. Go for her bro!
