I've read and tried several different ways of calculating body fat, and I've been getting a different answer every time. What is the best way to figure it out?

None. Most of them are inaccurate. If there was one, I wouldn't be too sure of it..

The BEST way is one of those underwater tanks. But that really isn't necessary. All that's necessary is that you pick one method and use it consistently. It may be off a couple %, but you will still have a reasonably accurate gauge of your progress rate, if not the actual %.
