Background info: I've gone on two dates with this girl and we've made out. After our second date she went on holidays for a week and she texted me during this time and I responded but then didn't reply to her next message. She's been back in town for a couple of days and we haven't spoken. (I was going to wait a few days after she got back to ask her out to keep her guessing). I'm not super keen on her but just waiting to see how things go with her
So today she texts me saying "Hey I really like you, but are you keen on me? Because if you're not that's fine, just let me know
" at about 8pm. Now the problem we all face with texts is that we have no idea of the tone with which they are sent. She's realitively inexperienced with dating (we're both 17 years old) and this makes me think there is the possibility that she is being honest. Although, she does have an outgoing friend and it is possible that one of her friends has taken her phone and sent the message joke like (girls do this all the time).
My question is, how should I respond?
Obviously, saying I'm interested in you is out of the question. No challenge/mystery.
Should I
1. Assume that it's her friend texting and say "Long time no see Katie (her friends name) how's it going"
2. Not text back tonight, (then what do I do tomorrow)
3. text her back at some stage saying something like "Hmm...I'm undecided you haven't won my affection yet. You'll need to put a good performance in on the third date" leave it at that then call her 3 days later and organise a date.
4. Any other option you reckon would be better
